Too Leafy Not Buddy enough

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by ratty, Sep 26, 2007.

  1. Hi all,
Got bit of a problem, My plant is in its 4th week of flowering and my buds tend to be very leafy and NOT buddy. I am using Bio bizz Nutes Including Bloom & top max the later to increase density but all im seeing so far is leafy buds rather than real fat dense juicy buds. am I doing something wrong or is it the srain. It looks so far that ill be triming most of my green to get rid of the leaves and have hardly any thing left. can any one help me !!!

  2. Could be the strain. If this is a soil grow I would add 1tbls of mollasses in a gallon of water 1x a week. This really bulks up the buds. My 2nd year using it and I'm impressed with the results.

  3. how much direct light do your plants get? and are they indica's or sativa's? molasses would be a good idea

  4. Hey -

How much sunlight are your plants getting??? To have fat dense juicy buds you need to have lots of direct sun for many hours a day! If the plants are getting only passive sun the buds tend to reach for the light and become string like and not very full.

    Kisses -

  5. Its more than likely the strain. Some just have a really shitty leaf to calyx ratios.

  6. it gets direct sunlight most of the day, I will try molasses does it really work that well, isnt molasses a form of sugar stuff,

  7. molasses is a form of sugar yet. it helps the plant suck in more nutrients from the soil so ive heard. causes them to fatten up and taste better so i figured id give a try this year. some people swear by it........now lets see if i do:D

  8. you are growing "The Church" right?

    mostly indica..........

the buds swell up the most in the last two weeks.

    stop worrying about nothing

the more leafs the more buds. they take time to grow.

My one plant 3.4 Ounces :D this year that I just harvested had hardly any leaf on it for some reason. but the more leaf the more stored foods the better the buds :D :D :D

  9. only 3.4... pfft ;)

  10. do bio bizz make a molasses formula, any recomendations on which one to use will they sell this in my local grow shop. my plant has been growing since May so I hope I get a nice amound of quality Bud as this is my first grow I want it to be a sucsess. Do I use molasses with every watering or just now and again say every other watering. I am growing the Church and so far havnt had any problems, I spose i still have 4-5 weeks or so of flowering.

  11. ive heard 1tablespoon per gallon and 1 tablespoon for 2 gallons. i used 1/2 on 1.5 gallons the other day:confused:

  12. Has it made any noticeable difference (is it worth it)

  13. 10 plants same strain 5 using molasses 5 not this year.1 tbls per gallon every 5 days. I do see a big difference in the ones using molasses I would say the buds are 20% bigger ...

Another option that I heard for the same purpose(allowing easier intake of nutz), is by using Perrie Water or any other carbinated water. I read that alot of professional Dutch growers use this on the plants, and they have only experienced great results. Has anyone else tried this? It could be alittle more costly than molasses, I would like to see the resulting difference from both methods to see what works better.:smoke:

  15. surely there's a walmart brand? just plain soda water? the salt content is high for that though... i thought roots liked oxygen and leaves liked carbon dioxide...

  16. when did you start adding the molasses???...beginning of flower?...i've no experience but it seems logical...does it need to be unsulfered molasses? and if so does anyone know why???...any nug rhoid is ok with me:p, let the fall harvest begin... with care all...cheers.

  17. I have checked all my local grow stores and none stock molasses, ive also been told using a can of coke mixed with water works just as well, has any body heard of this before

  18. molasses is sold at the grocery store...for some reason it has to be unsulphered...i don't know if you add it with nute water or straight water and when do you start it???...i only have 2-3 weeks till final flush...cheers:cool:.

  19. Ive been told too add the molasses to the water with your usual nutes.

  20. hehe grow stores for mollases? My "grand-pere" puts it on his toast in the morning :p
