Anyone else impressed by this kid? He got pretty successful very quickly, started playing cash games or somethin on the net and making a lot of money at 18. He's still relatively young too. I watch poker-after-dark sometimes on my tube and saw him playing there, he's pretty good IMO. I like his style, plus he's chill. It def. looks like he sparks plenty of blunts. Couple times he looked just mad stoned. I saw him bluff some dude on youtube for mad money when he had like, a pair of two's. something like that, but he's pro.
You do realize he is one of the most, if not the most, prominent online poker player. The guy plays nosebleed stakes and crushes for the most part. He does play a pretty LAG game, but at the nosebleeds, your abc poker will get dominated by people who are mixing it up constantly.
I'm impressed with his skills, that said I think he needs to pass the "time" test and stay consistent for a few years before he becomes a "legend" like some are making him out to be. Lots of people break out really strong and then are rarely heard of again. But very impressed so far.
His all-in with 10s in the first couple hands of the HU tournament against Hellmuth seemed pretty bad... but considering he's made a couple mil playing I guess I can give him the benefit of the doubt lol
I don't know the situation that youre talking to but 10 10 heads up is a tough one to get away from. Also I hear Tom Dwan might be broke lol. Cali's right again.
Hand starts at 3:23 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-hz4HRcbzM]YouTube - Phil Hellmuth vs. Tom Dwan "Durrr" National Heads Up Poker[/ame]
He lost 7Million over the past 14 days, and the kid who won it all, lost it all again to 2 Scandi kids.
With even the most minute amount of metagame going on, TT preflop is an easy shove preflop in that spot. Dwan did actually make a mistake because it was hellmuth and hellmuth is a total nit, but against almost any other player, he played it correctly.
durrrr is the sickest player [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtaAnS_uKVw]YouTube - Tom Dwan (Durrrr) $400k 7-2 bluff Full Tilt Durrrr Million Dollar Challenge[/ame]
Agree. Hand 1 Durr shows Big Slick offsuit to show Phil that he's gonna be bringing the goods when he raises pre-flop. Hand 2 he folds a marginal hand to Phil's raise (Phil had just said what all know, he's tight and is either gonna be folding or calling, but not raising very much.). Hand 3 Phil makes a call-raise and Durr should have called the raise and played a flop, he shouldn't gamble with Phil pre-flop, because he knows Phil is bringing the goods. After the flop he might still have some chips left and then gets 'em all in on 4th when the 10 comes down.
I love watching him on High Stakes Poker. He plays so many random hands and makes it extremely hard for other players to read him. Dude is fearless and has a lot of talent.
Clue: Look at his pupils. All I'm sayin' One of my favourite players though, along with Phil Laak who is a fucking legend.
