Found him today while kayaking. I was sitting down to take a break and power back up with a hot lunch and as soon as I take my sandwich out into view the little guy jumps out of the reeds. Hes probably no older than 2 months and I noticed he only had one eye, One eye looks normal and the other is just murky white. I remembered that the area was a place a lot of people came to dump cats they didnt want, and I felt instant pity for the thing. He was dirty, scruffed up and you could tell he has had a very hard short life, trying to defend himself and feed himself. I cant even think that someone would dump a cat knowing it would die just because it had a defected eye but I digress. I lured him over to me with promise of friendship in the form of a slice of turkey. As soon as he was about to finish the piece I gave him I made my move. I lunged for him and grabbed him by the scruff and he started screaming bloody nightmare! I imagine he was pretty scared and thinking he was about to die because he ended up giving me a 7 inch cut going down my wrist and stab to the neck but I wrestled him into my car. After probably a very anxiety filled car ride, hes enjoying sleeping on my bed right now. I think Im going to keep him. Ill give pics tmrw but not tonight because I dont want to wake him up. Here he is loving a comfy bed
u should be careful wit wild animals dude, prob doesnt have rabies but u should bring it to a vet tmmrw anyway to get some shots
I don't understand why you lunged at him to grab him. If you were feeding him, he would loved to have come quietly. Nice story though.
there's this one-eyed cat living around the neighborhood of this girl's house that i know. one day while moving shit around the cat, nicknamed 'one-eyed jack' of simply 'jack' snuck into the house. he did that every now and then when the door was left open but on this day i walked into the kitchen to find jack licking at their stick of butter. he left a giant tongue-mark chasm in it
are you saying that the distance between your neck and your wrist is 7 inches or that you have incredibly thick skin and that the cat gave you a horrendous 7 inch deep cut from neck to wrist? i'm confused
No you could tell he has spent his whole life defending himself because he would not get close to me at all. He is also very paranoid and kept looking up at me while I was watching him eat. The only reason he probably showed himself was desperation because he was starving. I was actually surprised I was able to catch him because he is a fast lil guy. He was flopping around, and he managed to nick me in the neck, but I do have a horrendous 7 inch cut around my wrist. It honestly looks like I attempted suicide, its thats bad.
I'm pretty sure if it was so ruff looking it's been in the wild for awhile, and cats that are left out of houses and without contact for awhile get undomesticated... and don't trust humans... if he didn't lunge at it, it probably would of hauled ass and not came back
Hahahahahahahah But seriously, OP. Take that shit to the vet if you plan on keeping it, it needs shots and such otherwise it may die at your hands, not natures.
yeah or it might turn out to have rabies and is just in incubation period and doesn't show any signs yet and then one day it goes crazy and kills OP
Taking him to the vet tomorrow and then the groomers the next day I dont think anything is wrong him besides the genetic defect. If I didnt grab him, I know he would be dead within the week. Walking back to my car I found what I believe to be the momma cat and another kitten both dead in the Reeds. Im just glad I can give this guy the life he deserves to live. Im thinking of calling him kief.
