To Scrape or not to Scrape

You can let the resin build up in the bowl and just scrape that and use alcohol to

just clean the stem. I like having a nice resined bowl although I find a dirty stem on a pipe to be a little less appealing. Oh well ill live

I like to let resin build up.

It works on a rainy day.

 

I prefer it all clean. Letting resin build up would just make it ugly and taste bad. And if you are planning on scraping the resin and smoking it, don't do it. Only if you're desperate. Its nasty and horrible for you. Resin is just the slow build up of tar.

 

I can't imagine why you would let the resin build up...lazyness is the only acceptable answer IMO

If you keep it clean not only are you doing your lungs a favor but your tastebuds as well...resin is just not worth the hassle

 

Well why does he want to let it build up?

If he just wants to save the resin then you can clean it and keep the resin in an empty pill bottle or something till he wants to smoke it. If he wants the resin to build up so it colors the bubbler some then...well I see his point.

How small is the bubbler? I had a real small one that would get clogged weekly so I had no choice but to keep it clean. It looked better dirty cause it gave the bubbler color but it was easier and better tasting to smoke out of clean.

You only have 3 choices though...either you give up, you wait for him to give up, or you go get your own bubbler.

I ussually clean my pieces every 1/4 or so. Save your resin though. A pill bottle, as Dice said works great, I keep mine in there.

There is some shit called "Goo Gone", I have yet to use anything better on glass. You can find it at hardwares stores, and it is natural, and safe.

Just tell your buddy it makes the weed taste like crap. Any respectable stoner would take taste over resin.

 

I have better things to do then boil my bowls. Thats just me though...

Yeah, that thing is way to small to 'let resin build up' in. It will just get clogged and you will have yourself a useless piece of glass full of poo.

 

Get some rubbing alcohol and some kosher salt. Put a combination of the two in a zip lock bag. Put the bubbler in. Shake the shit out of it(gently). Also, for better bubbler hits, get some pipe screens. If none of the convenient stores around you carry them, ebay is always your friend.

 

I clean mine every once in awhile with just water and a scrubber, it still leaves a bit of resin so i don't need a screen or anything. But i iso wash it at the end of every month to get it looking brand new.

 

I personally cannot stand a dirty piece. I always keep my bong in near perfect looking condition. But that's just my opinion. I also have never smoked resin, so maybe that's why I like keeping my piece clean

 

personally, fresh clean hits are godlike.
pipes with resin arent too bad
but when it comes to bongs and heavy duty equiptment, i like to heave as little resin as possible.
a friend of mine says its not worth worrying too much about resin
it kinda takes the stress and hassle out of cleaning it perfectly

I haven't worried about resin since I got a carbon filter adapter.
