To Much Heat From CFL

    If I got a 200w dual spec cfl how much heat would it give off and how high would i need to put it above the plant ?

    check my grow. i made a hangar of CFLs from 3 footers. can turn on/off any of the 1-9 lights for heat/light intensity. indispensible for my babies leading up to MH. gives them a nice ease into the HId light. the large 200 watt CFLs you want are fairly inefficient from what i understand, and because they are think make alot of heat with little spread.

    200 actual watts of cfl gets pretty hot!

    Have an oscillating blow on the bulbs and plants

    I made 2 100w cfls remote ballast
    i seen a 35% reduction in heat

    Took apart the cfl
    Bought a socket that plugs into a outlet there like 97¢ or a dollar at walmart, ran power cords to bulb

    Seems almost as safe as using a bulb that contains mercury
