To drip water or to flood when on holiday?

  1. I'm going on holiday soon for couple of weeks and need to devise a self watering system for my greenhouse.
I've whittled it down to either a drip watering system using 2 X 20l tanks elevated above the plants and running 5mm tubing to each pot and having a small tap on each one so it just continually drips in each pot ...... Or...

I would use the same tanks on ground level and run a pump once every couple of days (via a digital timer) using the same tubing (without the taps on the end) to effectively flood each pot and then let them dry out again.
Not sure which one is the best way. Any input on this would be a great help.
    Thanks.

  2. Yo! Fry!
Its better to drop water in droplets than flooding .

You dont want a swamp in your plants, do you?

  3. Only Flood if thats your DWC thing, although you can drip ...consider wicks or in my case I prefer water crystals

  4. Set up a drip line from your water source, add in a timer and leave it like that year round.
