  1. Yo, folks! I have an autoflower (Six Shooter fr. FastBuds) on Day 29, and I am not sure if I should clip a couple fan leaves blocking future buds. First-time grower here, so I wanted to K-I-S-S, see how she grows naturally, and worry about training / defoliation after I get a couple successful grows under me. HOWEVER, I can't help but think that the fan leaf highlighted in my picture (and the opposite leaf on the other side of the plant) are completely blocking the bud centres below them. I'm thinking this is an obvious yes to clip, but whereas this is an auto and I have 0 experience, and advice from other growers is super appreciated.

  2. Have you already tried tucking the various leaves?

  3. Thanks, actually just tried that after I made this thread! Looks like that might work pretty well, but I'm now wondering if an even better solution would be to just leave the fan leaves, and pull down the lower bud branch with wire. Either way, looks like clipping probably won't be necessary :) IMG_9465.jpg

  4. Better off bending the entire stem than cutting fanleaves. You'll encourage more branching when they're bent horizontally. They react better to training than mutilation.

Edit: overgrown is another story, but you don't look overgrown.

  5. I always remove fan leaves which a blocking the light. One here and another there, not all at once, mind. Your plant will not suffer from it.
