I've had a problem with spider mites and catties but I've been cleaning them up and theirs not visibly a huge issue. While there is some catterpillar poop I usually just gently fling it off.. and as for the spider mites I've been wiping them off as well but is a bud wash necessary? Will the spider mites continue for much longer after harvest.?

  2. Always bud wash outdoor weed.

Unless you like smoking feces that is.

Hang dry upside down and all the spider mites will congregate at the base.

  3. They dry faster after they've been washed.. At least a day faster.. I use warm water.. Seeing the water go from clean, to noticeably not clean, is enough for me to wash.. Besides they seem to enjoy it..

  4. Spider mites poop too but it's too small to see. Fortunately my eyesight is so bad these days I don't need to wash my buds, they always look clean to me and after smoking brick from Mexico for a couple of decades I figure it's too late to worry about that shit. I suppose smoking unwashed buds could be why my lungs are shot but I'll bet it was the cigs that caused the damage. A cig addict worrying about smoking a little bug shit? I bet the heat kills any germs anyway.

  5. Wash brother

  6. Call me old fashioned, but I haven't washed an outdoor grow yet. I figure by the time everything is properly cured and anywhere NEAR being ready to smoke, anything harmful will be dead.
Or maybe I just tell myself that because I don't want the extra step. LOL.

  7. Even spraying the hose over them is very effective if you are worried about over exerting yourself.

The season has to be pretty perfect to not have any critters or dust or random shit stuck to your outdoor trichomes.

    Just tell us the truth…

You love raw doggin it ;)

@Cactus Ed already admitted to it, but personally, I already knew Ed was a raw dogger.

  8. I live in central California and we dealt with several fires again this year. At least I hosed them off after each fire, so I'll give myself SOME credit. LOL.

  9. I’m southern so we actually didn’t get ash this year. Did the year before and the hose did do most of the cleaning. I concentrate most of my yield too so that extra stop does do some further refining.

  10. I don't always wash my grapes either. And good luck washing that dust and bug shit off your sticky buds. Sure, some of it will wash off but is there really a difference between smoking 6 bug turds vs 4? A few years ago I grew a plant in my squash garden and kept it trained low to the ground which means with the wind the buds were full of sand I tried but couldn't wash off. Personally I haven't heard of anyone harmed by smoking unwashed bud but I guess if washing your buds makes you think they're clean then why not do it. If I did wash my buds I'd spray them like you suggested before harvest and allow them to dry on the vine. Kind of like what the rain does.

  11. I grew up on a raisin farm and there was nothing better than the taste of a dried grape on the tray. Sure I'd wipe away a little dust, but that was life. Raisins SUCK when bought at the store in my opinion. I dig natural shit, but like I said, I'm old school.

  12. Even in the greenhouse, my plants get really scuzzy and a good rinse won't harm. Then I hang them and trim the day after.

  13. You wash your veggies or do you eat the bugs off those too?

    Same methodology applies here.
Obviously you aren’t going to take out 100% of the crap but when you can visibly see the dirty water in a bucket after washing buds, it’s a no brainer for me.

Some people like to raw dog it. Keep owning it ;)

  16. Never washed a grow and think I only wood if I grew outdoors and didn't do any pest control just to make sure nothing is hiding on the plant
