  1. Update 6/12/18

I didn’t get around to setting up a drain tray like we talked about. My OCD kicked in and I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for so I’ll try again another day when I have more time. The LST I started seems to be working great. There’s a lot of growth in the lower branches that wasn’t there before. Not much else going on.

  2. Update 6/15/18
I ended up figuring out a solution to getting the plants up off the drain tray. I’m just using some old plastic soda containers, I think they’re used to hold 2 liter bottles. Whatever, they work. Plenty of airflow going to the bottom of my pots now thanks to @Tbone Shuffle suggestion. It’s hard noticing the growth of these girls cause I look at them everyday but looking back on my last update they’ve almost doubled in growth! Still only feeding with Fox Farm Big Bloom. The only concern I really have is some of the side branches that are growing upwards thanks to the LST seem alittle too yellow for my liking. They’re probably about ready to start on some Veg Nutes so I need to buy some soon. Also any suggestions as far as how the hell to tie them down when I have huge fan leaves in the way either blocking light from new growth or laying in the soil? I don’t want to clip them off.

This is the yellowing I was speaking of. Do they look like they need some Nitrogen?

Some of the fan leaves on this girl are the size of my hand! Makes tying her down very difficult.

  3. I usually remove most of the big fan leaves to let the smaller ones take over and to get better airflow. Plus it gives you a good chance to see areas to work on next.

  4. Leave them be. Keep feeding. Let them get about a foot tall then start training by bending the main stem with a crease at 90 degrees. That's what I do.

  5. I do see the bit of yellow on the top. You could increase nutrients slightly and see how they respond but don't get crazy. Increase them like 2ml/gallon.

  6. 2 of them look really happy. That's what you want to see. Nice work.

  7. Just makes me nervous. I don’t like cutting anything off them so you can imagine how I feel about topping haha.

Yea I’m gonna give them another week or so before I do any more training. The biggest is probably around 9 or 10 inches tall. Hard to tell because I’ve already bent her. And I’m pretty positive these are female preflowers. I tried to get the best pic I could but there’s 2 white hairs coming out on each side of the 6th node.

  10. I love topping plants. Check out my current grow for a side by side of topped vs untopped. Both from beans, and the phenos are very similar but I expect to get more bud from the topped plant.

  11. Lots of tops coming in on her. I’m gonna try to tie her down and circle her all the way around the pot and possibly top her at the end of it. This is my only confirmed female so far so I’m gonna take advantage of it. Been thinking about implementing a SCROG as well.. thoughts?

Started tying this one down as well. Smallest of the bunch, she was transplanted into FF Happy Frog so I’m sure she’s getting hungry. Need some Veg Nutes ASAP haha. I’m off work tomorrow though so that will be on the to-do list.

  12. Update 6/19/18
I went to the hydro shop today and picked up some Nutes and smart pots. All of the lady’s were transplanted into 3 gallon smart pots, that’s gonna be their final trasplant. I also fed them today with 1 tbsp/gal Big Bloom and 1/2 tsp/gal Grow Big. I’m probably gonna do another 2-3 weeks of veg and then throw them into flower. I’m surprised these plants even made it this far with the rough start I had. I’ll be much better prepared for the next round. Question: The side branches that are coming up because of the LST have pretty thin stems. Will the stems thicken when flowering starts or should they be getting bigger now? I don’t see how they’d be strong enough to support buds.

  13. Looking really great. Especially from the rough start. I'm glad they pulled through, even if there was a little stunting. Since you just transplanted with more FFOF soil, I wouldn't start adding nutes at all yet, since FFOF has a fair amount already in it. Also keep in mind that FF's line of nutrients tends to be VERY heavy if you follow their schedule. Maybe start with about 1/4 the suggested amount and work your way from there. I'm in it with ya. Good luck!

  14. Hey man thanks for stopping by! The soil they’re in now is probably half Ocean Forest and half Happy Frog because I ran out of OF somewhere along the way and my local store only had HF at the time. So this trasplant was actually all Happy Frog. I already gave them Nutes today after I got them, so we’ll see how it goes. I did half of what the feeding schedule calls for but I probably should have done 1/4. I appreciate your help!

  15. No problem! Happy frog is definitely lower concentration of nutrients by comparison, so you didn't cause any harm by feeding them! These ladies are quite resilient, and they'll tell you what the want/need!

  16. Update 6/21/18
I did a lot of LST today. I was gonna wait alittle but but the plants seem to respond fine to it and I’m trying to maintain an even canopy. I can see them quickly out growing the tent so I went ahead and pulled #3 out of the tent and put her under some CFLs to continue vegging under. I plan on putting these 2 into flower sometime in the first week of July. Being my first grow in a long time and in such a small tent I really don’t want to run out of room. I’ll continue training them up to flower and think the majority of my tent will be filled up by then.

Maybe alittle nute burn from yesterday’s feed. Gonna dial the Nutes down alittle bit next time I feed.

Filling out nicely. I want to take advantage of all the space I can.

  17. Those little spots look a little like spider mite damage. Are there any tiny dots or eggs on the bottom sides of the leaves? How's the PH of the runoff?

  18. Normally nute burn shows a day or two later as burnt tips.

  19. Ah say it ain’t so. I don’t know how I would have gotten them, my plants have never been outside or anything. I looked under the leaves and couldn’t see anything, I looked pretty damn good too. I actually didn’t test the runoff this last water (stupid I know). But, normally when I do it’s always right around 6.5.

  20. Update 6/28/18
I think I’ve pretty much maximized my space. Probably going to start flowering in the next couple days. I already have 1 confirmed female, hoping for atleast 2!
