Titan Helios 3 without neutral

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by boomer2800, May 11, 2019.

  1. So I have a three prong 30 amp dryer outlet. I wanted to wire my Titan Helios 3 4 light controller into it but have some questions. The outlet has two hots and a neutral going into it, with the ground(green wire) capped off behind it. I was planning on buying a dryer extension cord and plugging it into the outlet and then wiring it into the back of the titan controller, but all of the three prong dryer extension cords only have two hots and a neutral, no ground.

I know I need the ground for the titan controller, and I do not think I can just plug the neutral from the dryer extension into the ground on the titan controller can I?

Can I run the titan helios 3 without a neutral and just use two hots and a ground? Will the lighting timer still work? I dont care about the 120v accessory plugin on the front. Or is it best to convert the dryer outlet to a 4 prong outlet and then buy a 4 prong dryer extension cord so it has the two hots, a neutral, and a ground coming out of it; and then hook all four of those into the back of the titan controller?

  2. Im just going to switch out the dryer plug from a 3 to a 4 prong and run all 4 wires
