Same here lol i would rather trim by hand then a commercial trimmer no sense in putting in 4 months of works to get lazy on he last stretch.
Don't know any plans. Seen people put blades on box fans and use that though. Next year I plan to make one. I could see this really saving time for people who have a lot to do. You would still have hit up after by hand. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouojXIZUGRE[/ame]
thats sick if you have 10lbs of bud to trim. but i feel like it would knock off trichs or something. idk could be wrong. just seems kinda violent to me.
yeah having at least a couple people to help out is great. all you need is a tv or some music, couple buddies, an ashtray and a couple joints. it'll be over before ya know it. hands will just be too tired to jerk it that night
$540? Wow, I'm sure I wouldn't be hard to make. That's a lot! But I can see cases where it'd be nice.
Yes, most of the trimmers are absurdly overpriced. I mean $600 for some aluminum, a gear box, and some wire? It is just insane that the cannabis industry is just getting abused by the most random and useless products that cost an arm and a leg. I am just glad that people on youtube test all these products so I can at least have an idea of what I'm getting throwing down $1,200 for a trim machine. I am however going to attempt to build a very simple DIY trimmer because I annoyed with how much these machines cost when kids in Asia put them together for $1. My idea for a trimmer is an electric weed whacker positioned similiarly to the fan grate youtube video posted. I believe that if you were to take it and mount the head underneath a simple BBQ grill grate, and then prep all your buds you would be good to go. Those people use a fan so it sucks a lot of the leaf in, but they have huge stalks I'm betting on their buds. I also think that rolling the buds to push leaves through the grate is the best approach and why you still have to trim up buds on those circular trim machines, like the handytrimmer. Rolling the bud around isn't going to necessarily force those tight leaves through the grate. Anyways, just a thought if I build one and it is worht a shit I'll post pictures up.
When I am feeling lazy i take all my pre manicure buds that have cripsy sweet leaf still on and i put them in a jar and give them a good shake. Usually about... 6-7 days in <40% rh with all fan leaves removed. usually can do about a qp in a few minutes. jars cost 3 bucks for large ones
i was thinking the same exact thing but i also wonder how much that matters before it is cured and dried but again i also am totally guessing and have no idea
Well with the box fan set up it seems like you have some control over the pressure used and how much it is tossed and turned but you do have to rub it against the screen. I hardly think the trichomes lost would be noticeable compared to normal trimming.
