Tips on avoiding the DXM Itch?

    Being without weed, I saught the opportunity to try this drug. I read the negative effects on Erowid, and just about everything I could before I tried it, but I didn't take the itching effect seriously. I couldn't scratch my head enough, and it took a cold rag on my shoulders to keep me from scratching hard at it. I enjoyed the trip in general, but I would have like it much better had that itching effect not been there.

    Surely there is a way to enjoy this drug without itching. Do you think I had an allergic reaction to something in the syrup? Will pills help? Is it nessesary to extract to avoid these effects (Meaning, I won't do this unless it is the only way)? Is there a cream or spray I can use on the itching areas to avoid it?

    you can take a low dose of some .. whats its called?


    antihistamine?


    that should keep you from itching. im sure a quick search will help you, i know ive read about solutions before.

    yea, take an antihistamine n it should help, i never really had the itching problem though so i cant tell u its garunteed to work, although when i was doin fentanyl i was itchy as fuck n i sprayed hydrocortizone spray all over my body including my nuts, n let me tell u, that shit burns! haha so dont use it unless u can handle some burning for about 5 minutes, it aint to bad of burning though so u could handle it if u need to.

    I've heard that the combination of DXM and anti-histamine can be fatal or quite dangerous.


    What have you heard?

    well i've taken like 20 robitussins n 12 benadryls before (back when 20 actually did sumthin to me) n it makes you trip face, but 1 or 2 antihistamine pills aint gonna be fatal, its only when you take syrups with antihistamine in it that it can be fatal, because for each dose of dxm ur takin ur also takin an antihistamine dose and in order to get enough dex to trip ur also gonna take a shitload of antihistamine.


    so yea, as long as u keep it limited and dont take syrup wit antihistamines already in it, there aint any kind of risk of dieing, although if u take a real high dose of dxm and then a semi high dose of antihistamine (like the one time i took 16 coricidins 12 benadryls and a bottle of robitussin) u'll earn urself a nice trip to the hospital

    Well, I like being wrong. So you're saying that if I drink 4 or even 8 oz of robitussin (with JUST DXM, obviously) and maybe a normal 2-pill dose of (non-drowsy, please) anti-histamine medice I'll be just fine?
