Tiny plants!!! 2 months old

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Wizzle_A, Jan 19, 2019.

  1. These plants are right at 2.5 months old since popping out of soil. The bushy one is only 6 inches from top of pot. Lst. The other is right at 8 inches. ffof soil. 77 degrees. Ff trio nutes every other watering. 600 true watt full spectrum led cobs. 18/ 6.byI see all these pictures of people with 3 week old plants that easily double to triple my size. I'm at a complete loss.

  2. 2 months??! Holly shit! It looks like you got nutrient burn of some sort. Not quite sure. 2 months and mine are 3 feet...

  3. Give them some bone meal see if the phosphorus helps.

  5. Is the discoloration coming from the old leaves(bottom) to the newer leaves(top)?

Because that is the way it appears to me in the pictures. If so, usually results from mobile nutrient deficiency(Nitrogen,Phosphorus,Potassium, Magnesium)

Have you tried flushing your medium for salt/nutrient build up? That can lock things out and make your plant suffer too.

  6. Distance of light to plants. Buckets huh, do they every completely dry out? What strength nutes do u use. How often u water? Ff say use nutes 1 time a week atleast. Twice a week for best results(usually watery every 3d)

  7. I'm sure there it a small amount of nute burn. I upped the nutes to half strength because they were yellowing. I thought it might be a deficiency. The discoloration was on the older growth. I've let them dry out very well, and the color is coming back on the newer growth very well. I water to about 30% run off every watering. So I have never "flushed". The lights are hanging at 20 inches. The bucket was my way of doing an air pot before the grow bags came in. At the time I was thinking it may have been root bound, so I drilled the shit out of a bucket to get her into some more soil asap.

  8. Watering is every 3 to four days. One is a straight water/calmag and the other is the nutes

  9. When I first started watering I felt I always over watered with run off. What I Do now and seems to work. Is water until u get some in the tray. 1/4” maybe. Where it’ll soak up in a half hr or less and stop watering there. If u don’t over feed u can get by with less run off and just do a flush b4 flower 12/12 flip then ur finial flush

  10. I'll try less water. I will take some pics when I get home to show. These pics were about 1.5 weeks ago, so I'll do some updating for everyone to look again

  11. Its crazy how 100 ppl could use all the same stuff and some end up with issues and some not... I blame it on the different water sources lol,jk

  12. u know what... do u out 30% or more perlite in ur soil?

  13. I ask bc I just thought about this. I haven’t used perlite yet. Gonna when I transplant these seedlings but when I done 20-30% runoff I didn’t have added perlite so my soil was prob super packed so it held waaay more water then it shoulda, causing issues. If u use a good amount of perlite it’d prob take care of the overwatering with runoff(of that is an issue, like I feel it was for me) but I still stand by u don’t need a lot of run off if u don’t over feed =D

  14. I do. It is 1/3 perlite. 2 cups soil to one cup of perlite

  15. U usin a flashlight as a grow light? Planting strait into a 5 gallon bucket. This grow should b gettin way more attention. I’ve never seen anyone do this.

  16. 600 true watts should be plenty of light for a 2x4 right?

  17. Hell ya lol. 400 would do it

  18. 600 true watt full spectrum cob led. The smaller 2 are in a gallon grow bags. The bigger one has gone solo cup. 1 gallon pot, and just last week went into the 5 gal. Pot.

  19. Sucks all that time has been wasted

  20. Can you take a picture of the lower leaves and preferable a bit of the stem?

The reason I asked about the leaf color change, what direction, and if you’d flushed is because you have to have something your plants aren’t getting to stunt them like that.

If your light is a true 600w, your perlite and soil specifications are correct, and your water isn’t to hard or anything then you know those are off the list. Gotta keep testing and checking until things improve but you said they are starting to. What are you doing different and how is it helping?

Once you figure out the specific problem you can move on and veg a little longer if you wanted to. I hope you’ve figured or finally figure it out.

    Good luck and happy growing.
