I've had this problem with this plant from the beginning but now I'm seeing it on new growth. I've searched the internet and found plenty of people talking about similar problems but none seemed to receive an answer.
My plant is getting little tiny holes in her leaves as if she had bugs but there's... not a single sign of bugs. I haven't even had a fruit fly in there in probably a month. I have scoped her leaves with a USB microscope but can't find anything (anything my paranoid mind could believe was a bug didn't move in 12hrs so...). Her buddy, the aloe plant is also visibly clean and healthy.

I am LSTing her and just pruned her so maybe it's just stress. She also has twisted leaves (but she's always had those as well).
I have tried giving her magnesium and calcium, which doesn't clear up the problem.
I am considering trying a stronger nutrient, but I'd like to stick to organic to idiot-proof her grow as much as I can. I was looking at Root Organics Budda Bloom which is 0.5-2-1 where as Fox Farms Big Bloom is 0-0.3-0.7, or add a soluble seaweed fertilizer that may help the pH and add some potassium. Also considered giving her some of Advanced Nutrients Ancient Earth for the Humic/Fulvic acid to make her a little more hearty to pH BS and increase nutrient uptake.

Anyone have any ideas? She seems to be growing ok otherwise, but with considering switching her to flowering in the next month or so I'd like to get all her problems fixed.

  2. The only strange spots I could find were these.
I have sprayed with DE a time or two. Some of it's still hanging to a few older leaves (which show no sign of damage).
Fairly certain the black spots are just some dirt/sand. I've found these on lower leaves that eventually falls off.

You can see some of the leaf damage on these. For the most part it looks to me like it's coming from inside the plant rather than outside.
The white dusty spots do not show from the underside of the leaves - pretty sure these are just some DE sitting around.

These are around 100-200x magnification. There's a couple fibers on her from me and string. They're not bugs. Bugs should be pretty visible in this kind of magnification.
So unless she's got a stay leaf hopper or white fly I'm at a loss.

  3. How does the plant as a whole look?? I can't really tell from the pic.....

  4. Good! She's nice and green and I see new growth every day.
She does have some red stems on her newer fan leaves though.

Ok guys and newbs (like myself).
It was bugs - little white guy, small and fast as fuck. Found one around the aloe plant. Sprayed the fuck out of the space.
    More DE for my gals.
Probably going to go buy some insecticide (any suggestions? I'm guessing mealybugs.

    At least that's sorted!
