Tinctures

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by Strax88, Oct 9, 2020.

  1. Anybody know how I can figure the strength of my tincture?

  2. I am still figuring this out myself.
What was your tincture firstly made of?
Mine is still brewing in the MBM2.
But the bud was tested 32.89-33.4% THC. And I used 31.6 grams. in 500ml of 190 grain

Otherwise, The Calculator (for butter/oil at least)

  3. I dont know the exact strength of the bud but it was around 19-20% and I put 7g in 118ml. I did a 10 min shake and let it sit in the freezer for 12-15 hrs.

  4. 7 Grams into four ounces? Did you decarb?
If 19-20, then that is 190-200mg of THC per gram, and you are using 7.
You are however doing a method I have not used.
But from what I know, what you did should of worked. Hell more shaking can do.
I think the yeild however are pretty high. 40+% I think.
That is I am doing an ounce. It looks great...but I think if I evap the alcohol I should have I would hope more then 5 grams of RSO.
But depending on your alchol proof (151, o r190)
This is what I was linked:

He didn't go nearly as long.
I dont do the freeze method. Should I? hm I have a MBM2. lol

  5. It's unlikely that the herb is 30% thc.
The best part of the best bud from the best plant might test that high, but in general 15% is closer to the truth.
20% is about the highest we should expect.

Assuming 20% thc, each gram used should supply about 200 mg thc.
If you multiply the number of grams used by 200, you'll come close to the total amount of thc.
If you then divide the total thc by the number of servings, you'll get the thc per serving.

  6. Yes I decarbed but im not sure if it was fully decarbed I tried the oven and Mason jar method which is new to me. I usually use an instapot to decarb

  7. Let's say your material is 20% to begin with. That's 1400mg total. However, you'll leave about 25% behind in the material, not because it didn't extract but because it's absorbed in the plant material and you can't get it out. Now that leaves you with 1050mg of THC.

You should pour another couple of ounces of fresh cold alcohol through your used material one more time to rinse out a lot more left behind. It can give you an extra 25% more cannabinoids than with the single run and the calculation above has that factored in. If you're using 190 proof alcohol you just evaporate some of it off to increase your potency. :)
