Tincture I made

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by Bradl33t, Jan 19, 2014.

  1. So I had half an oz of pure peppermint extract with a 180 proof alcohol content. I added a quarter oz of whiskey to it for flavor "taste is fine" minty as hell but not disgusting. Anyway...so I ground up a gram of super lemon haze that is just damn ass dank. Was wondering how long I should let it soak for, as I've never made one before like this. With the weed being as sticky and potent as It was I'm sure the ratio to alcohol is okay.

  2. Did you decarb?

  3. if you didnt decarb u should let it sit in a dark place for a couple weeks. and you gotta shake it for 15 everydaySent from my SPH-L710 using Grasscity Forum mobile app

  4. Yeah I cooked In my oven on 250 for 30 minutes.

Good job. Might not be the best tasting but you should get effect. Put it in the freezer take it out and shake it then do it again. Then let it sit, the longer you do the better let us know. I would not try to reduce it the flavor will be to strong.

  6. I tasted a bit of it before I added the weed and it tasted like mint mouth wash. So I imagine it will taste like weed mouth wash. I plan on doing drops in the corners of my mouth and under my tongue

  7. Can a tincture be made without heating the weed first?

  8. Yup, the effect will be different and less effective.

  9. So if I made another one cold without heat it wouldn't work? Or you just won't get as high?

It depends on the weed you use. The older more naturally decarbed it is the better it will be. You might not feel anything. Decarbing removes the carboxal group. Changes THCA into THC that will be able to fit into the receptor.
