time for seeds to sprout?

  1. I germinated them two wednesdays ago, and platned 2 germinated seeds on sunday, as of yet, neither have sprouted. Should I give them more time? Or did something go wrong?

  2. So they have been in the dirt for a week now? I would give them more time even though they should have sprouted by now.
How far down did you plant them?
Where did you get the seeds from?
What is the temp in the grow room?
    What was your germination process?

  3. Yup, about a week.
Planted them down maybe a tiny bit longer then a fingernail.
I got the seeds from Rhino Seeds the "Early Special"
The temperature right now is from 90-sometimes reaching 100
I germinated them in a plastic bag with paper towels, on top of my moniter, for maybe 36 hours.

  4. Ugh, I just checked my temps again and its 110 in shade, I havent gotten a fan yet but I thought that you didnt need to really start worrying about heat until 1-2 weeks after sprouting. Is it likely that temperatures were the cause?

  5. Yes.
110 is way too hot. I would not let them get any hotter than 85-90 max. My guess is that they are cooked. Sorry.

  6. Maybe there buried in too deep, seeds need to be buied about a 1/4 inch deep. Maybe that will help. Peace.

  7. I agree. I think you planted them too deep. Barely under the surface is best. Secondly, with that amout of heat, the top layer of soil would dry out quickly and seeds at this stage will die almost immediately if they get dry. Your newly planted seeds should be kept moist, but not wet, at ALL times. You can put them in plastic cups and put clear sandwich bags over the cups to make mini moisture domes. They should be kept under a small floro at a temperature in the mid 70's. Once they sprout, keep them under the floro for the first few days. Read the grow guide.
