I have a 3 week old auto that I actually almost broke when it was just a few days old it got bent in half n had to be supported. It came back healthy tho. My closet is already crowded with 2 dwc buckets with 5 week old auto and 1 4 gallon air pot 5 weeks old. I want to tie down my 3 week old auto just to experiment. However if I tie it down it makes my plant bushy right? That's just the problem I have little space in my closet... I could put it on a shelf above the light n bend the reflector a little I have mylar to reflect the light I have a 2 gallon pot with plant screwed in the top of the closet that's still getting good light. My ? Is if I tie the branch's down could I scrog it in this little space to get a few main colas in between my 2 dwc??? Am I even making sense? The bottom pic u cant even see the plant inbetween the three 5 week olds... Another option is moving it outside??
Or what if I put my light all the way up in the top of my closet. Keep my two dwc plants at the bottom get 2 4×4 posts and put my 2 soil plants above the dwc. I guess the soil plants will block some light but I'd position them to where they wouldn't block much light.
You've got that closet way too full. Crowding plants together just shades out growth and keeps light from penetrating the canopy of the plant. The only buds that can develop out in that situation are the tops. How many plants you can successfully flower at a time should be determined by the lighting you have available to flower them with. Every plant needs the same high wattage/correct spectrum during flower to produce it's best. If you are forced to hang your light high just to cover all the plants, you have too many. Keeping plant and light close as possible during flower keeps plant from stretching and also gets you best bud production. I think I would hold onto that other one until I harvested something if you want all the plants to do well.
How can I hold on to it?? Its already 3 weeks old? I know next time I'll just do 2 dwc in there. Any suggestions??? Just let them grow like they are or move some outside?
If it was just the 2 dwc in there it would be fine I think. Little crowded maybe. But the over all yeild with 2 dwc in that space would have to be better you think. Right now I got the plants at different levels the 2 gallon pot screwed to the top part of closet above the light is a experiment now just to see if I can get any off it. I'd be happy with a half oz... We shall see there 37 days old now so 3 weeks left. I have a plant thats 2 weeks old in there just growing under the dwc buckets but soon its gonna be to big.. I'm gonna have to find a sunny spot in the woods somewhere...
Can some one let me kno if this is correct way to tie down. There were 3 main stems. I tied each one down. And where there tied the started bending n reaching for the light...
Yeah looking good, just make sure whatever your using to tie doesn't cut the plant and don't tie on growth areas
Yea I had to move the string a little cause it was on a bud site I think... My other plants are like 40 days old.. Should they have buds yet?? There auto flowers.. I think there starting. On the main stems there like hairs sprouting out of the stems. That's the start of buds right?? I tryed taking a PIC but camera I sent that good but maybe you can still tell.. With autos they bud without darkness right?
My method for LST is folder clips on the rim of containers (rather than drilling holes) and pipe cleaners; endlessly reuseable and forgiving enough not to tear stems if maintainence doesn't keep pace with growth.
