  1. I have 3 windows one on each wall bellow the plants all open PLUS the lower zipper of the front door open and lifted and stretched up lmao maybe ill open some of the holes on top and around the top sides of the walls haha that might help the negative pressure too lol

  2. if it's like my tent those little windows are too small and the intake is a little 6" dingleberry :(

  3. if you find a little 6 inch pole-mount fan that I can get like, two to use in each corner of my 4'x4', let me know :D

since I'm not flowering yet I've just got my tent doors open and a 24" oscillating fan does the trick, but to close it up I've been unable to find 6 inch oscillating fans

  4. Quick update
Alright ladies and gents .... this is looooong overdue but recent developments in the grow tent forced me to do whats right and what I was supposed to do a few years back hah and thats fix or i should say optimize the ventilation/cooling in my set up!

    Before:
My 8" HID cool tube was hooked to an 8" exhaust fan placed outside the tent extracting warm air from the tent through the tube cooling the light. Later in flowering when the stink develops, the extraction fan is then hooked to a scrubber outside the tent, blowing the warm and stinky air through it! Intake is passive! (Thats when issues started for me)

    Now:
As you can see in the picture, cold air is now being pulled from outside the tent to cool the HID light/tube and the speed is set low-medium (will adjust as needed). Another 8" extraction fan is set outside the tent extracting warm air from the top of the tent (see pic) and blowing it through the air filter/scrubber outside the tent as well! This way i extract less air from the tent to cool it AND cool the HID light.

Instead of getting a 4" fan as my intake, i decided to do it correctly and this way. If i need the intake later (and i doubt it) ill get it! But for now, passive intake should be plenty enough! Also, a second 8" fan in case the one goes, ill always have a back up to cover me til i get another fan.

I also lowered the humidity in the room to 50% (will be lower in the tent with the lights on).... lets see how the girls like this new ventilation setup.

Although some may think its too late in flowering to make such minor changes (will see how minor/major this turns out to be haha) i am doin this because i plan on having another run after this one.

Til next update, happy growin yall

  5. Good work, sir. I think you'll be happier with this setup, overall.

  6. I love the new setup, right proper.

As for making minor / major changes - if there's a problem, it's better to fix it, otherwise your yield will be even worse! My first grow was with autos, everyone says "don't up-pot" but it was so rootbound - I up-potted, it exploded on growth. I really debated that though, if it stunted, I'd have been sad.

  8. Alright ladies and gents .. today counts day 75 of flowering (since I flipped)
Recently, we have had some problems which ultimately lead to delays in finishing (was supposed to finish and harvest the blueberry at or around day 60 .. thats 2 weeks ago), I decided to go ahead and start chopping down the blueberry which is infested with spider mites the most.
I fumigated the groom with pyritherin and lowered the temp a little in the room to help control the issue since the mites like warm and dry environment. After that, I started clipping some of the blueberry top buds to help with air flow and to remove as much infestation out of the tent as possible. I made sure to examine what i harvested today and it was evident that the mites affected mainly the larger fan leaves and a few smaller fan leaves here and there. Sugar leaves and buds were free of infestation.
The buds were then trimmed after getting rid of the bad leaves, then allowed to dry on a drying rack. Starting today, I'll probably do little of chopping every time I'm able to!
First pic showing the little spider webs here and there. This is as bad as it got so far. Aside from the webs, some leaves had numerous mites (maybe eggs) under as if it was dusty. Second pic shows some of the buds. Maybe an ounce to ounce and a half after they dry
Til next update, happy growin yall

  9. Omg I hate mites. My buddy just got mites on one of his plants. According to what I've read, if you achieve brix rating (measurement of sugar content in the sap) of 12% or more, sucking insects apparently won't even recognize the plant as food. I'm ordering a brix refractometer because it's one of the most objective ways to determine a plant's level of health. This is going to be the focus of grow for awhile, raising the brix!

  10. Wow this is very interesting and thank you for sharing this knowledge here ... new to me and makes for some good research and reading to come .... will have to look into it and read about soon
But in reference to treating the mites, knowing the brix rating will only tell me if my plant is being seen as food by the mites ... right? Not like we can work on lowering the rating (late in flowering for example) to manage (starve) the mites right?

  11. Yeah, I'm not too sure about mites. Raising the Brix is important in general but it's not a means of treating anything. I'd recommend SM-90 but not this late in flowering...

  12. Thanks bro
Yes i read that this wasnt good this late in flowering ... in fact i read there were few products that were ok this late in flowering. However where i am, things are tough to find .... the pyritherin is available (i actually had at home it for some reason) and i knew it was the safest i could use. So i went ahead haha ... i guess i could have just kept going without using any insecticides but would have had to harvest everything quickly ... lets see how this goes and go from there .... im taking this as a learning experience ... this is my first mites infestation hah adventures
Btw .... do you think i can throw the infested parts in my compost bin?

  13. I'm actually just learning about compost. My understanding is that any organic plant material is safe, but needs to be matched with fibrous carbon like news paper, hay, whatever...

  14. Day 77 of flowering and i got to clip some buds of the critical cure ... notice the bananas in the first pic. Too many of them damn it hahah
Also i clipped a bud from the amnesia lemon and the bud is small with large calyxes.....gowth similar to when a flower plant revegs appear on that bud. It could be incidental or it could be really that the amnesia at some point tried to reveg and thats why it looks the way it does. Did something happen to my timer that lead to a hermied critical cure and a ?revegged amnesia? Not sure but it sure is a possibility worth exploring!
Some shots of the buds before and after manicuring hah
Til next update, happy growin yo

  15. Day 78 of flowering (weekly) update
Not much since yesterday! I clipped and manicured some more buds from both the cbd critical cure (pics 1-2; check out the foxtailing on the cbds buds) and seedsmans blueberry (pics 3-4) .... it doesnt looks like I made a dent in the canopy lmfao (last pic) .... man i got a long way to go and a lot more colas to clip .... anyone wants to help clip and trim? Will have some music goin, plenty of Js (bong bowls) to go around and will order pizza .... ill even through an oz or 2 of the critical cure lol ... btw that plant has a pungent fuelish/motor-oil/lemon smell .... i cant describe it really but it is just a very very strong smell. Its familiar but cant figure out what it is that i smell in the mix. And the best I can say is fuelish/motor-oil like and lemon and very pungent ... maybe after curing itll be more refined. Will see .... the blueberry on the other hand is sweet and smells of Ripe (maybe over ripe) blueberries
All the blueberries buds I clipped showed no active infestation.....i cleaned up lots of fan leaves from the bb and those too had no active infestation. There was an infestation but its no where bear the buds. It was only on fan leaves....

Nonetheless WE HAD A DAMN SPIDER MITES INFESTATION AND WE TOOK CARE OF IT

Til next update, happy growin yall

  16. I did some more clipping today. I clipped another branch of the amnesia lemon and certainly does look like it tried to reveg or something. The buds are small and airy with swollen calixes a few of them are growing weird like extending out a little on a short stem.
The Trainwreck buds on the other hand, are compact but dense and covered in trichs. Not very leafy and the sugar leaves arent as frosty but the buds are. I am not sure if this bud size is just the genetics of this plant or if its due to the same issue that caused the cbd critical cure to hermie and the amnesia lemon to do whatever the heck she did lol

The buds in the pics are of the trainwreck
First under skirt shot is of the blueberry and the second is of the cbd. Just seeing this and how nuts those two plants are growin above the screen, i must think twice before scrogging more than 2 unknown plants in that 4x4' tent and in those modified waterfarms. The tent cant handle this kind of growth. The blueberry and the critical cure are plenty enough for this tent lol
Til next update, happy growin yall
