  2. Another quick update:
So, in addition to the overaccumulated koolbloom in the root zone, this is what I think also could have been the reason for the slow nutrient and water uptake lately (and that might have also reflected in the slowed bud production): nonexisting HUMIDITY ... RH relative humidity. Apparently the rh in the tent is too low to even register. Too low an rh can cause the stomata in the leaves to close up, reducting the uptake of CO2 (respiration and thus photosynthesis) which also means reduced water and nutrient uptake.
So, and for the sake of trying to correct this, i placed two large saucers filled with water in the room where the tent is and uncovered my topoff res to allow more water to evaporate with the aeration to increase the rh in the room. I want to bring it up in the tent to above 35% for now at least and while the lights are on. Rh can be nonexisting again towards the very end of flowering to increase resin production. But right now I need the stomata to be open and the girls to breathe
    Any thoughts are welcome here

  3. Should try to run a little closer to VPD standards, without getting excessive. I would say even 35% is low, 45-50 being better. Is it proven lower RH means more resin production? I've heard lower temps in general in the end have helped increase (mimicking end of fall/harvest time).

I've noticed keeping my flower room at 55-60, I've seen better looking plants and yields, although I'm not running hydro. Have heard too high of a RH with cool water temperatures can also cause its own issues.

  4. Thanks brother. Yes I agree They drank a lot more when the rh was higher. I am trying to raise it now. Its difficult in the climate where I am even with a humidifier but difficult is still doable.....if what I did doesnt bring it up fast enough and keep it higher steadily, ill invest in a humidifier!. I checked it earlier and it was 60%. Its still lights out though......ill see how it is with l8ghts on in the am

  5. Day 50 of flowering (weekly) update:
The girls are doing well and back on track of their flowering. In fact, the blueberry is started to put on some weight that i had to support it up ... still at least 2 weeks to go (by breeders estimate) for the front ones and I anticipate at least an additional week for these
Anyway, i refreshed the bottom main res replacing a 17.5L bottle with fresh RO and full dose Armor Si, full dose Cal-Mag+ and full dose Diamond Nectar; (.5ml/L) liquid KoolBloom and full dose FN bloom and Floralicious Plus! To a final ppm of 1100 and pH of 6.0. The top off got an RO bottle and a tap bottle with half dose armor Si, half dose Cal-Mag, full dose floralicious plus and enough canna aqua bloom (better PK ratio for cannabis and i have it anyway ) to a final ppm of 650 and pH of 6.0
Here are some pics showing the buds starting to fill up ... not even close to the thickness I like to see to consider bud PORN ... soon enough

  6. Quick update
As of yesterday the girls are gobbling up more nutrients n water (ppm in main res keeps goin down) than being added
So I raised the topoff res ppm to 750 (from 650) slowly in the last couple of days and I adjusted the main res ppm back to 1100 simply by adding Koolbloom directly in it. Liquid KoolBloom ups the ppm AND the pH .... the girls seem to eat more of this pk because the ppm seems to go down and so does the pH!
Now with the humidity at where I want it with lights on (in the 60s and 50s) the girls are eating and drinking much better and bud are swelling .... the chop chop is happening soon cant wait

  7. I'm glad you stopped by my journal because while I am (I assume) growing a strain you're interested to see, the same is true of Amnesia Lemon for me. I have 5 seeds waiting for their turn, which I'm thinking will be very soon because your plant here looks absolutely gorgeous. I just ordered three more Barney's Farm strains: Blue Cheese, Liberty Haze, and Crimea Blue (mostly for my broke friend, but I'm keeping 2). I also ordered two Dutch Passion strains: Orange Hill Special and The Edge. Eventually I'm gonna consolidate my journals and keep one for my entire operation, but since I couldn't find a single Ayahuasca Purple journal or a worthwhile grow report anywhere, I decided to make one.

    Subbed up, see you around!

  8. Thanks brother and welcome aboard
Btw, and althought i love Barney's Farm's genetics (love their liberty haze btw and its even better as it gets cured and aged) ... anyway the amnesia lemon isnt doing as well .... so dont take this as a reference for its growth, girth and final yield. The buds look small and compact but the calyxes are huuuge ... im hoping they bulk up more but if they dont, this pheno may be just like this. Time will tell

  9. I said it in my journal but you too man.

Things are looking good! If you guys want a great one to try get Critical Kush. It's a knockout strain, great yield and potency is through the roof (plus that 1.5% CBD gives it a wild buzz when you use it).

I want you to try RX Green Solutions nutrients, really bad.. I think you'd really like it. So far I haven't met a person who hasn't liked it. Should inquire on a good sample pack, or I could hit up my rep and have him or someone touch base with you. Might change your growing game a bit plus since you seem to be growing medicinally I've seen better results with RX than most, on the potency side of things.

All your stuff is looking great though, I don't want that to come off insulting or as a reflection of what I'm seeing here!

  10. I have heard that the pheno(s) that lean more toward the Amnesia side of things do better, but that's just hearsay. I'm not too worried about yield at the moment, as long as I get close to a half pound out of my 315. This last harvest I had to throw out 2 oz due to bud rot. Ayahuasca Purple is actually the first Barney's strain I've run. I'm pretty excited based on the descriptions I've heard, it also seems like it's pretty stable, all but one look basically identical to one another. I'll know more when the buds blow up. I had a few people recommend Liberty Haze and Blue Cheese, I liked the sound of Amnesia Lemon plus it's a HTCC winner, if I recall correctly. I haven't run enough strains to really be too particular with the results. Right now I'm mainly focused on becoming the best grower I can and trying strains I've been drooling over since I was in high school (10-11 years ago?).

    Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!

  11. Time will tell bro here and at your end hah .... I am not too worried about yield either as i grow medicinally and for myself
Barney's Farm got some good genetics and a few cannabis cup winners i heard a lot also about their tangerine dream and their pineapple chunk

  12. Day 57 of flowering (weekly) update:
Things are going well for the most part. I think i saw a male part on one of the CBD critical cure buds and i clipped it off .... i looked around to see if there are any more but i couldnt find any more. So anyway ... although thats not something I want to see towards the end of flowering, lets just hope this was an isolated issue or that it wasnt even a male sex organ .... time will tell and if i want to base this on previous grows, a few Barneys farm seeds that i germinated ended up hermaphrodite later. I really hope thats not going to mess with my potency (i really dont care that much about the yield)
So the topoff res got topped off with 35L of RO (2x 17.5L bottles), 10ml Armor Si, 30mls Cal-Mag+ and 8mls Floralicious plus.... then i added bloom to a final ppm of 750!
Here are some pics of the canopy and buds
Til next update closer to chop chop, happy growin yall [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  13. Day 64 of Flowering (weekly) update):
Girls look like theyre at the end of their flowering. The deficiencies are starting to show a bit on the leaves and the leaves are changing color slightly ..... the only one shooting out pistils is the CBD critical cure and shes doing it by the bunch. The blueberry is getting frosty (see pics below) and i feel the trainwreck was more indica than I thought. I feel she might have finished her flowering already (like around or even before the blueberry) .... The Trichomes on the blueberry are almost all cloudy with scattered rare amber. The critical cure is mainly cloudy eith a few clear still. Anyway, the chop chop process is starting very soon. Ill start with the blueberry clipping her top colas and leaving the lower buds to ripen a little and get mote light while I clip and dry the critical cure and trainwreck, leaving the amnesial lemon for last. I will be clipping the top growth first allowing the lower some extra time with more light.
Thoughts n ideas are welcome here.
My thoughts on this run is that i shouldnt run 4 unknown strains under this very tight (2x2 inches) scrog screen in this tent (one front door to access the scrog screen only and no back or side door). The crowding above the screen is not letting enough light down. The defoliation i did wasnt close to being enough although better than nothing. This scrog screen will be restrung to be either 3x3 or 4x4 inches. I topped off the topoff res as last time
Here are some shots of the canopy and buds ...... till next update, happy growing yall

  14. I think it's nice to place your plants close together since you get basically everything the light has to offer, utimately you're going to get less per plant though and having them too tight can lead to problems with mildew and bud rot with all of the transpiration taking place. Seems like things turned out just fine. For me it is pointless to let my plants get much more than a foot tall in veg because I always remove the lower branches in bloom until I have a canopy 18-20 inches deep, so it's better if I just aim for a plant 18-24 inches tall so that this doesn't become necessary. I like my buds to be uniform for the most part, with the exception of the colas, so that I end up with nice and dense "popcorn buds". I also hate trimming but I'm so particular that I prefer to do it myself, so I like to keep the actual bud count low. That's not very useful advice, but I'm still kind of a newbie. I feel like I'm just beginning to master the basics.

  15. Thanks bro
Things did turn out better than ok for the most part i think given the new genetics, new environment (growin in a totally new spot/room) and still havent gotten the variables dialed in more consistently. I may be just a bit hard on myself but thats the OCD in me lol .... some of the issues I seem to face a lot is with the fact that my grow tent opens only from one side. I cant get to the back plants to evaluate them and tend to them better like I want with the 4x4' (1.2x1.2m) scrog screen.... so i guess if i am growin new strains in this tent, scrogging them may be less optimum .... maybe just top/fim lst and supercrop.
As far as the tight spacing between buds, i noticed this in the last run .... and tried to correct it this time by vegging the girls less and filling the screen less before the flip (didnt have time to restring the screen) ...... however the blueberry took over the screen encroaching on all 3 other plants. Then the cbd started to invade the others personal space lol .... thats the least i expected from those two most indicas and expected them to stretch the least hahah
My next run isnt going to be scrogged and may be in organic soil ..... love to try different things in growin and thats what makes this hobby one of the best
It never gets old because its never the same experience (unless you got a mothers n always run their clones
Sorry for the rant dude .... just toked some good Amnesia and it made typing this post feel like chattin haha
Happy growin dude, as always, love how are plants are comping a long ;-) exciting time now

  17. Day 71 of flowering (weekly) update:
It seems that most girls (blueberry, Trainwreck and amnesia lemon) are in the ripening process while the CBD critical cure is still fattening and shooting out pistils by the bunch. Shes also definitely shooting out more bananas now...bitch lol ... Its very late in flowering now and hopefully it wont cause too much of a problem since ill be chopping very very soon! If i get some seeds here and there, i guess thatll save me on having to buy them plus i can only wonder what the crosses would be!
Some shots of the cbd and the blueberry
Til next update, happy growing yall
