I just bought a 40# bag of top soil and a small bag of perlite. My plan is to mix the 2 together and hope for the best lol, I'm not careless I'm just inexperienced when it comes to growing. Is this a good thing to do (I haven't mixed them yet lol)?
What kind of soil did you buy? Alot of people mix perlite in with thier soil to help improve drainage.
I'm not sure of the brand, but I'm using miracle gro right now and I wanted to try growing in regular soil that's been cut with something else to see what the result is. This is my first time growing so it's all trial and error at this point. Somebody had mentioned supercool soil (I believe that was the name) and I think that's going to be the next medium I try. I also thought of cutting the soil with an organic manure and seeing how that works. Bear in mind I'm doing this on a very strict budget, if it works, great. If not, then I'm only out a little bit of $
