This year I'm growing...

  1. This year I'm growing five autos (Southern Lemonade from Baked Beans) in 5 gallon mesh pots, using fox farm ocean forest and happy frog soils. Will be using Dr. Earth Home grown and Flower Girl nutes to take them all the way. Probably start mid May.

  4. LA Confidential, Skywalker OG, LSD, Super Skunk and a couple Lemon Haze autos. Outdoor.

The LA Confidential is a staple with us. I mix the rest up from year to year. It sucks not being able to smoke anymore, but I can get higher on oil/edibles anyway. Sharon smokes, so I live vicariously through her. Lol

  5. Well, I have blueberry cheese going now, then some blackberry kush, then maybe some fast sherbet or banana daddy.

  6. Similar to you mate, instead of LA confidential (good choice by the way, I grew some last year and thoroughly enjoyed it) I run Gelato-33 year round as its the crowd-pleaser down here in the hills of western VA.

I'll probably do 2 more crops this year, maybe 3 if I get some autos in the mix. Right now I'm thinking G13, Banana Kush on the next run, and maybe some blue dream and Jack Herer for the sativa doms.

At some point I want to find some quality Dr. Grinspoon seeds and try a few just for the experience, but that may not happen until next year.

  7. I grew LA confidential last year, excellent smoke.
I usually get feminized seeds but this year for the first time I'm growing regular seeds from Bodhi. Snow Monkey, Devils Play, and Wookie Hashplant.

Nice... I haven't grown Gelato 33 yet, but I've smoked it and I can see why it's a crowd pleaser. That's going on my short list for next year, thank you.

Being strictly an outdoor grower here in central NY, I generally grow the earlier finishing strains. Frost isn't unusual here toward the end of May, and it can start crapping on us again as early as Mid September.

I start my plants early enough that they're around knee high when I put them in the ground and it helps in the form of bigger, stronger plants, but photoperiod being what it is, I'm not always able to let them fully mature before harvest. I nurse them along in the fall, covering them on the frosty (up to a point) nights and shaking off the condensation in the morning, but there's only so much you can do.

Then there's mold and mildew. We have a lot of humidity here, so when things cool off in the fall that can be a serious issue.

We all face issues with growing outdoors. That's just some of what we deal with around here.

Sorry about the rambling post. My morning brownie kicked in a little while ago. lol

Good luck in your future endeavors...

  9. Cool... I started using feminized seeds several years ago. Before that I always used my own and whatever my friends found in a bag of good weed and saved for me. There were times that I didn't even know what they were, other than knowing it was good bud and whether they looked more Sativa, or Indica dominant. Lol

    Good luck with your grow...

  10. No prob mate, being slightly indica dom I've had mine finish in as little as 8 weeks of flower, but 9-10 weeks is closer to the average on them.

Some sites say its difficult to grow, but I've had no issues with them beyond they seem to suck up more water and like a slightly higher temp and RH than more sativa things like Jack Herer or Blue Dream, it might be a good fit for NY summer season.

I hear ya mate, took off at lunchtime today and just roasted my first bowl! (Promised the wife I would only smoke 1 bowl during the daylight hours, she never said how many grams the bowl could be!)

  15. Yes, that's what I was thinking too, regarding the Gelato 33, after your reminder and looking at the specs online.
Thanks again for that, I appreciate it.

And yeah, that bowl of weed should hopefully do the trick. Lol

  19. I'm doing the same here. This weather sucks and it doesn't look like it's gonna change much in the near future.

I planted a few autos in buckets a couple days ago and I have some seeds soaking and my cups ready. Looks just like your place. Lol Good luck with it man.
