This noise that keeps me awake at night

Well fuck, every single night i try to go to sleep, whether its in my home house, or my parents vacation house it sounds like a tap, thats repeated for maybe a minute, then stop for a few minutes, then starts again. At my home, it happens alot, along with the sound of pipes rattling. When I found out we were going away for christmas i thought i would be able to finally get some quality sleep. We've been here for about a week now, and for the first three days i slept in silence. But on the 4th night, the same tapping sound started again. It only happens at night, and it just keeps taping for a minute straight, then stops for a few minutes, then starts again. It keeps up until the wee hours of the morning, and i have the shortest and shittiest sleep. I take sleeping pills, but somehow the tapping sound over powers the sleeping pills and keeps me awake. Even sweet mary-jane cant help D: And it seems like im the only one who hears this. Any blades here ever had this, or know how to not be annoyed by this? i've tried tuning it out, and it'll seem like just as im about to sleep, the sound will start and keep me awake
     
  2. Hmm I normally just hear real high end frequencies until I pass out.. My hearing is super on point though. Tapping though I had experiences with once or twice I was super torched but I ended up passing out. I would come to terms with the fact that it is not actually there and focus upon your breathing and thoughts of the day. Just keep cycling through until you pass out, if you can focus enough upon those aspects you can easily tune out the tapparoony.
     
  3. This is the reason I always sleep with a fan on. Even in winter.
     

  4. I've tried that, but when i start focusing on other things, like what happened in the day, my mind does not stop running. I told this to my doctor, and she gave me pills that would "help" me. But they do nothing to calm my overactive mind. Infact, thinking about other things keeps me up for even longer. MJ used to just make me pass out and not think about things, but now, that doesnt even help
     

  5. I wouldn't necessarily call it focusing... it's more of a calming lucid mediative state. Anyway, what is your doctor giving you? Have you tried exercising during the day or perhaps reading some literature before bed? Being physically and mentally exhausted generally helps out quite a bit.

    I would take a break from the MJ if it is not assisting you as it has previously. I'm currently on a 3 month stent with no end in sight and I have to admit it is nice going back to normal biological rhythms.

    i often hear reoccurring noises at night that apparently aren't even there according to everybody else that lives in this house, so yeah i know how you feel it keeping you awake and all it sucks...
     
  7. Your brain is makes it appear worse, You're anxious, Wtf is that noise, Seriously i have been in those situations, WHERE the fuck is that noise, Why does it always occur. Ended up turning to be a fucking wire moving back and forth against leaves...Odd.. a lot of things squeak and cricket. Noises would appear from out of the blue.

    Shit just decides to make noise for a reason.
     
  8. When I sleep I almost always leave the tv on, put a radio station on just high enough that it blocks out ambient noise. I sleep like a baby, good luck m8

  13. Charlesss NNnNOOOOOOooO! Get out of my heeeeeaaaad !!! Dude, this shit was happening to me last night. Shit was creepy. Sometimes it would go away, then when I would focus on it, it would come back. What is going on.

  15. Im actually on a MJ break as we speak. Two weeks infact. Im prescriped Zopiclone, 3.5mg tabs a night. Right now Im usually spending two hours a day out in my backyard snowboarding.
