This lump in my neck (lymph node) is getting worse after I smoke

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by fadeddd, Jul 9, 2011.

  1. I never read any reply's or read the full stories but from what I have learnt in school our lymph nodes become swollen when our bodies fight of toxins. Your body could be treating weed as a toxin or someones trying to poison you

Look forward to reading more. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  3. So I found out I needed a root canal on the side of my jaw that is bothering me.

Got it done and now I'm on antibiotics. We'll see if the lump is tied to the root canal infection.

Do any of your teeth hurt?

  4. Confirmed, my lump is gone now. I would go to the dentist.

  5. Well my 2 cents are long overdue, but run this test for me for anyone who's still curious or just a hypochondriac. When you use your mouth and jaw to pull in a "rip"  "toke" "hit" whatever. feel your neck/jawline as your inner mouth expands like a "balloon", this can cause physical stress to the area. Now if your a huge smoker, this may be just over straining that area a bit too much. This applies to straws, cigarettes, or well lifestyle choices.... Anyhow taking a break from such activities Should help out for the most part, but take what i said with a grain of salt and test this when you take a "drag" of anything in the future. GL n HF! ;)

  6. Did anyone actually resolve this?

I've been suffering for nearly 4 years and it got gradually worse so i stopped smoking completely. Now it seems to flare up with random things and i became hyper allergic to my existing allergies.

Ill comment again on this as I've made great progress.

About 4 months ago i began taking Chlorella/Spirulina algae tablets daily. They basically replace the need for a multi vitamin while being 100% raw and affordable compared to raw multi vitamins. They posses immense detoxification properties, and considering the Lymphatic system is a big filter, my guess was i had some kind of build up that the algae helped remove. I get absolutely no swelling of it at all now sober or stoned.

I know 100% these are having other positive effects on my body as well. I had s toe nail that was badly injured by a floor jack falling in it from 3 ft. When it grew back, it came back ingrown. I had the procedure to fix it hut i lost my nail for a 2nd time in the process. This time, nit grew back extremely slow and misshapen/discolored. I figured it was something I'd deal with, a half toe nail that was yellow and lumpy.

Well 2 months in on the tablets, i noticed my nail had begun to grow, and quite a bit. I give it another 2-4 months before it is back to normal. I hadn't changed any other thing in my daily routine except the tablets

  8. Use a vaporizer to see if that causes same reaction.

Start searching google for "cleansing the lymphatic system"

You need to get to work but grocery store items can do most of this. Ie lemon juice, Bragg apple cider vinegar raw, etc.

Cannabis is still your friend in this used responsibly. I do wonder if the cb2 receptors throughout your immune system are becoming over stimulated by cannabis. Or perhaps it is the reaction to smoke in your lungs, overloading an already burdened lymph system.

  9. I second everyone who says to try vaporizing or edibles. Smoking irritates the tissues of your mouth and the dry mouth is even worse with smoking. That's the last thing you want if you have mouth issues.

  10.
Hey Nate, I stopped taking chlorella (mixed in water) because I couldn't stand the taste, so my question is, are the capsules a little more neutral tasting?

  11. I think so yes. I mean the bag smells a little like fish food but as far as taste goes i barely notice one.

1 serving is 20 tablets, which seems like a lot but they are only about the size of a skittle, if that.

  12. Didn't read this whole thread, but did anyone mention hyprerreactive airways yet?
    Often causes acute lymph enlargement.

  13. About 23 years ago my left lymph node swelled up to the size of a golf ball and stayed that way for almost a year. It was very visible and could be seen from 50 ft. away. Being 19 at the time it was pretty traumatizing to my vanity. My folks took me to a doctor who suggested it could be a weird form of leukemia, but it was too early to tell. Then, after many months, a pimple formed under it and whiteheaded after a few days. When it popped, the entire lymph node drained. Musta been a freakin' cup of pussy fluid. Instantly my lymph node returned to normal and it never happened again. Of course I smoked right through the whole thing, not that I'd recommend it to someone else.

I had a lymph node that suddenly swelled up a few months ago. Doctor couldn't find anything wrong but put me on antibiotics. My mouth also felt weird. I almost went to the dentist. When I went home and water-pik'd my teeth out really good, a chunk of food and some blood and pus came out from where something had gotten wedged up under my gum (on the side that had the swelling). Swelling went down right away after that.

  15. After smoking one night last February, I woke up with a sensitive throat and a swollen lymph node that was sore on the right side of my neck. Then I had fever for 3 days. The soreness went away after a few days but lymph nodes stayed swollen. A few weeks later it happened again. This time it was several lymph nodes and fever for 5 days. My throat became very sensitive to smoke and I felt some sensation there that wasn't there before. Wasn't painful, but annoying. I quit smoking. As the nodes never went away I eventually had a biopsy and was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma stage 2 a with nodes in my neck and chest.
\nStopped smoking, changed diet, eventually did some chemo and had a clean scan a couple months later.
\nThis past New Years I smoked, and my throat had tingling sensation then sore. Had a sore throat for couple weeks. Now the left side under my jaw and neck have some sensation so I quit smoking. It's been 1.5 months and the sensation is still there.
    \nAny Suggestions?

  16. I get this exact same feeling. I find I only feel like this if I’ve smoked and gone to bed pretty soon after, if I’m out and go to bed a hour or so after smoking I don’t feel it as much at all. So I think it just must be being more sensitive to our bodies and then overthinking it?

  17. Hey started a profile just for this... I am one of these people. No. Its not in my head. Everything I have done to test this comes back to the same sad result... I can't smoke... I started 2 years ago. Never missing a day. Same as written before by others. Lab work, sonograms, all the fancy crap. Including a biopsy. All showed nothing. But conducting my own experiments have shown me this. My body just can't handle smoking pot. I have been growing my lymphnodes now for about two years. Only stopped to run my experiment. I haven't died yet. Sometimes I think it gets close (chest pain and occasional brain splitting headache). Anywhere a lymphnode branches, that is where the growing takes place. Armpit, neck, Submandibular gland, where frainkenstins monster should have bolts, chest, all the way down to the boys. After a while the swollen turned to almost a solid. Stiff might be a good word. As if veins were at max capacity. I am now easily able to trace out my lymphatic system by following these bloated tubes every which way. It hurts. I have learned to ignore it for the most part. But I really need to quit. Slowing down still feeds it. I have no answers, just a shitty solution.

  18. I found my people! /s. I'm in the same boat. Every time I smoke weed, I get swelling under the jaw on both sides, and swelling on my neck on the left side. I smoke cigarettes and I don't get any similar reactions.

I've visited my PCP many times, saw an ENT specialist, etc. Sonograms, CT scans show nothing. Blood work shows nothing.

Doc thought it was a salivary gland, told me to wait a week or two- still there. I'm really at a loss. It's been over a month now. Doctors are at a loss. They think all of my problems can be chalked up to anxiety.

    My next steps are:
    1. Find new PCP doctor
    2. Buy a water-pik and try Chlorella & Spirulina, per suggestions in this thread.
    3. Continue to floss twice a day and try to make sure there are no issues inside my mouth.
    4. Visit another dentist for second opinions.
