No, he said that there were very fine people on both sides at the rally. People, not white supremacists. See, this was a right wing rally, not a white supremacist or Nazi or KKK rally. Sadly, they were the prominent people on the news, because they were the loudest and most flamboyant.

Just like Antifa do not represent the left, white supremacists do not represent the right. Both are extreme fringe minorities of the right and the left.

I hate the ideologies of white supremacists, Nazis, KKK, etc., but I will not ignore the violence from the left's fringe extremist groups for the sake of virtue signaling. I don't cut off my nose to spite my face.
