So I live in an apartment building and I made the decision one day to start growing so I went online picked up a small fluorescent grow stand for seeds and some seeds. Also picked up some misc stuff from stores here.soil pots etc, bought some tomato plants n such to go with it so nothin suspicious. Now only problem I'm not really sure where to go from here i planted 5 plants (maybe started too big but I'm not sure... Either way all I have right now is 5 plants in small pots in potting soil (all I could find) in the closet under fluorescent light. What I know. I know I am going to need a carbon filter and fan for smell when they get bigger I know I need to change lighting setups. They're on a 18/6 light cycle right now What I don't know When to change light setup/what to go to for how long. How often to water (have been giving a little water twice a day) With carbon filter do I still need decent air circulation? Living in the north winters get to -20 f so leaving the window open is not an option.. Also soil choice. Not sure what to do there as I got just basic potting soil with micro nutrients I'm really in deep and have nothing for my next steps... Also any help with good websites to order stuff as I live way in the country and the nearest town is a 30mile drive and they won't have garden stuff this time of year. I bought from htg supply before but they seem like the over priced store in the biz... Any help appreciated

What temp are your bulbs? Autoflowers dont require the 12/12 lighting. They will flower themselves. The breeder should tell you how many days itll take. If I were you id let all thr autos do there thing then after you harvest them the non auto can go to 12/12. And ebay is probably the cheapest site to buy stuff

What type of plants? Auto flower? If there autos, run 24hrs of light. If not, wait till they get a few nodes and then turn lights to 12/12 and they will start to flower. It all depends on how much space you have. When they begin to flower they stretch sometimes. Twice there size. keep the light as close as you can. Two or three inches from the tops. Small fan works for air flow. It also makes the plants a little stronger.
Hps isnt necessary its just a more powerful than a cfl so if you have one use it. As far as nutrients look up the lucas formula. Its only two bottles and they work for veg and flower. Why the auto watering?
