Let me start off by saying that I am proud to be an American. I, like the founding fathers, share a passionate belief in all of the things written in the Declaration of Independence to Britain. Among those are the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. My friends, I am sorry to say that my happiness is being prevented yet again by another seemingly tyrannical government. This is more then just my right to smoking pot. Its my fucking liberty. Liberty is defined has having freedom from arbitrary government. Smoking weed is arbitrary to the law. It was made illegal because of racist, money hungrey politicians. Look at the history of the United states It was founded out of passion and necessity And now its run by the corrupt and power hungry. this is the same shit we tried to get away from britan for. What will end it? When will it end?
I doubt it ends in our lifetime. If the world woke up tomorrow and no one was doing any kind of non-prescription drugs, no one was selling it, no one was buying it; how long before the DEA would declare the war over and disband itself? My guess, never. There is too much money and power in illegal drugs and marijuana is at the forefront of the fight. P.S. George Washington would have toked us up.
In one way or another some kind of revolution is coming. It doesn't need to be a blood bath, but eventually it will happen. Hell, if I took everyone in Hungary and made them Americans and put every American in Hungary, America would have had its revolution awhile ago. Alas, apathy, foul mistress of todays culture.
Nothing will end it because the nature of man will never let it end. We're capable of great beauty but we're also capable of great ugliness and the powerful energy in-between the two extremes. Unless something amazing happens to change our natures tomorrow this is a struggle we're going to be waging for as long as our kind walks this world. There are no true enemies for man to despise, only the great struggle he wages against himself. Maybe one day people will see that life is brief and that we've barely lived. Look into the night sky and see the sea of black surrounding us. One of the great challenges is all that dark matter and mystery that stretches off beyond our mind's ability to think. The human race is one tribe, black, white, red, and yellow. What prevents us from seeing passed the superficiality of this? Is it a cosmic cloud of confusion, is it a fog over our minds sent from on high, or is it our own selfishness and shortsightedness? We need each other, now more than at any other time. Like I've said before it's comforting to turn our brothers and sisters into enemies rather than looking at the impact of human life upon this beleaguered world. American democracy was at best a pause-not even that really--because human nature was and is as vile as ever. America even at its height was drenched in the blood of slaves. Think about it, at one time this country that is supposed to represent freedom and democracy condoned the keeping of human beings for the service of other human beings. Where was the Constitution then? It would probably save a lot of time and bloodshed if we just accepted ourselves for what we are, but people don't believe in doing anything easily. Not when we think freedom can be found in bullets and peace in the eyes of the dead. "People, like water, will run downhill, seeking their lowest level unless something interdicts them." ~Cal Thomas~ Stay green.
I, like many I suppose, have picked up on this thought before. But frankly, when push comes to shove, it isn't fucking good enough. You either choose to live consciously or you don't. You can call the "don't" waiting for something to happen if you want, but what are you waiting for? to stealth quote the enigmatic ak infitity: We need each other, now more than at any other time. Has this ever not been true?
