For the past 1-2 weeks I've been doing a lot of research on growing indoors, at first i thought i wanted it to be this big, expensive, elaborate grow with HPS lights and all that. But i just bought the new issue of High Times and i read a small article explaining how its a lot cheaper n shit to grow with fluoros, and that you can still get reasonable results(i know, very different from more expensive lights) and since this is my 1st grow i dont want to spend so much. Today i did some MORE research online and it actually seems that fluros might just be what im looking for. Now, i read up on the compact fluorescents, along with making little soda can reflectors to fit around them, but i think those small bulbs would be more suitable for cabinet grows(grow boxes) and im just using a closet(pretty big, walk-in closet) so i think having a bunch of tubes would be better. I was thinking that i could get a big light(is 4 tubes enoungh??)to hang over the plants anthen have a few on opposite sides of the walls so that the light reaches all parts of the plants, probably 2 horizontal tubes on each wall. Could anyone help me or give me any tips for positioning the lights? All help is greatly appreciated. Im not exactly sure on what other items i will need to purchase for this setup, but i know the basics, BTW im growing soil. Im hoping to start this grow soon. OH and also im livin in an apartment so im not completly sure whats going to happen with fans and all that shit, the closet is right next to my bedroom so i guess if i had to i could cut a hole fom the closet to my room and have a fan there, and maybe have some of that big tubing stuff to get all the stinky hot air out of the window. idk im a bit confused on this subject.
Lay some horizonallty above the plants, and some vertical running up around the plants, this will ansure you get total covering of your plants making use of room available
