Thinking of moving to Denver.

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by MiketheRhode, Nov 2, 2014.

  1. Hey guys, I'm graduating from college at the end of the year with a degree in Public Relations. I was thinking of moving to the Denver area in the next year or two depending on how fast/much I can save money. What is the job landscape like out there? Are there still jobs in the marijuana industry? Does my degree hold some weight in the industry? Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated!

  2. All I can say is that the prices for weed are probably gonna suck. But if you learn to grow then it won't be a problem. I don't know much about your degree or the job industry out there regarding cannabis though

They have enough stoners there already.  Why don't you just get a job and get stoned where you already live?

  5. There are jobs in the industry, if you want to be a trimmer or bud tender. As far as PR jobs working for a mmj or rec shop I doubt it.

  6.
    Im not bullshitting you....

Buy a fucking taco truck and sell tacos.

    Tacos rule!

  7. Snoopdog knows the program. Just to be clear....there is no middle class in Cannabis here in Colorado. Plenty of jobs bud tending and trimming but it only pays 12 to 14 bucks an hour and it is excruciatingly tedious work. It's like working an assembly job. On the other hand are the owner/operators that own these shops. They have a lot of wealth tied up in their shops and they take care of all of the operating issues that arise. As far as mid level jobs....there really aren't any.
The master growers make good money but many of them are ex pats from Amsterdam that moved back to the states after we legalized. My buddy owns a shop and his master grower was an apprentice with Soma. The others are all master growers that moved here from Cali and Washington.....top notch but they are far and few between. One of the posters had it right....get a good job in your expertise here and start a massive grow room in your basement :)

  8. I'm planning on doing the same thing when I'm done with school and have enough cash saved up. A job in the MJ industry sounds like a long shot, but if that's really what you want to peruse then so be it. I am planning on just finding a job within my degree, I'm a business student, so there are a lot of jobs suitable for that and the employment rate isn't bad there. It shouldn't be too difficult to find a good job with a nice starting salary, especially if you have a degree.

  9. The better question is, you got Denver money?
