I'm thinkin about gettin a wii. I have a 360. But I was in game stop today, and lookin at all the nintendo games really had me remembering the past. Maria, Sonic, Zelda, Donkey Kong, etc. Now that I'm older though (20), I just don't know.. I mean I could see gettin high and playin, but I don't know if those games would still be fun. Kinda worried Id get bored after 20 min and be wonderin why I'm tryin to relive the glory gaming days lol Whatcha guys think, and how are these newer Wii versions?
Not worth the money IMO. That's money better spent on kush and munchiez... or just about anything other than a wii lol.
you already have a 360, you could get a kinect..... course, it doesnt have the nintendo games..... nor as good of a selection yet.... but, its another option hahahaha just putting it out there However.... i wasnt a huge fan of the wii.... the only game i play on it is SSB:Brawl.....
I'd buy it if you're at all interested. They're really so cheap now and I paid a lot more for mine.. The virtual console games are almost all you need but there are a lot of other good games. To me I kind of get bored of it but other people love to play games on it. I like to have it just in case I get the urge to play. They're so cheap now that I think it's affordable enough to do that. There's a lot of cool stuff to do on it. I was mostly playing games on virtual console that I had before so I was getting bored quick. Then I bought Donkey Kong Country 2 which is a game I never really got to play much and I was having a blast with that. I plan to buy more games from there. The other games all depend on your interests. I like Donkey Kong Country Returns but I couldn't really get into Mario Galaxy. Wii Sports is great though too. I think it's worth it if you have the interest and have the desire to play Mario, Zelda, and Donkey Kong games. Lots of other good ones too. There's lots of virtual console games. I was also interested in trying this NFL Training Camp game but not sure how good it would be.
^^Yeah after posting this I was watching gameplay on youtube. Donkey Kong Country Returns looks like somethin I'd have a ton of fun with. I found a deal on craigslist with a guy selling a modded one that can download games, it comes with 250 games, controllers, steering wheel, whole bunch of stuff all for 250. I could prob throw him 200 bucks and he'd take it, for 200 it sounds like a hell of a deal. Sweet thing is that I could always play is for a couple months and then just resell it all if I wanted to. And yeah to sirsog, I'm not interested in the kinects at all. The only reason I want a wii is because they have all the nintendo games. I even seen a new kirby is coming out soon haha! Me and my cousins used to be lost for days in kirby n64, was an awesome game.
dude Wii is so underrated. it has a pretty good group of fucking awesome games on it. DKCR is great fun Metroid prime trilogy is awesome LoZ:TP and soon SS is coming out No More Heroes is great Smash bros obviously Monster Hunter Tri is really awesome. they re-released Okami on it if you havent played that beofre every super mario game is fun, its a law I mean, it doesnt have quite as deep of an "awesome games" list as PS3 or 360, but the games on it's awesome list are really fricken fun....like really really really fun
I've had a Wii for years now. It's not a stand-alone system for sure, most of the games are fun but lack the long lasting entertainment value. I Homebrewed my Wii a couple of months ago and it has extended the life of my Wii 10x. I use a Gamefly account to rent Wii games(Xbox 360 new titles when they release...got Gears3 right now + a Wii game I just copied to my hard drive) I have a 200GB external hard drive connected to the Wii and have copied about 25-30 games and they boot without the disc
It's great with friends, especially when you're really stoned. They have some damn good Virtual Console games on there too, I think those have more play than my actual Wii games. Homebrewing your wii is also a great idea, but my brother messed mine up.
i've had a wii since 2007? i think. it just stood there for a long time collecting dust. until i got monster hunter. awesome online game. was addicted to that for a while. after i beat it though it just went back to collecting dust... honestly imo it's only worth it if you constantly have 2+ people playing it with you. like super smash bros yeah that game is awesome but i never play it alone. it get's boring fast. same with a lot of the other games. some of the games you get from the online store are okay if you loved the SNES/N64 games. like i have the Legend of Zelda from snes and it's great. Fzero from snes. but idk. i feel like i havent really played my wii as much as i thought i would. how much is a wii nowadays? like 150-200? I'm not poor but i aint rich either. with 200 bucks i'd rather buy a tablet or something. a new phone... idk maybe save the money for some upcoming games like skyrim. it's not worth it imo especially now that nintendo announced the new wiiU or whatever that is. prices are bound to go down anyway. you might as well save your money for wiiU or just wait till they lower down the wii prices.

The Wii was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent. I bought it, played a few shitty games, and let it sit for like 6 months. Came back and then homebrewed it, playing all of the best Wii games I could find. Unfortunately I only found like 3 good out of the 50 I've downloaded.
The Wii was my favorite of those generations consoles. Monster Hunter Tri ate my time like a fat kid eating cake.
Hmm..lotta mixed. Well is there any type of Donkey Kong for 360? lol it's the main game I wanna play. Loved the story mode for the DK games.
