Think I burnt my plant...

  1. My plant is unusually small for how old it is. I was using seedling starter soil, and I figured maybe the soil lacks enough nutrients for growing, and just for sprouting. So I put a very very small amount of miracle grown in some water and used that instead of normal water. This morning, a lot of the small leaves that are still growing are a purple-brown and some of the big leaves are yellow on the edge.

I'm afraid I burnt it, anything I can do to save it?

  3. Seedling dont need any type of nutes.....look how small and fragile it is. I'd flush that thing out real good and also check the ph. Still looks saveable tho. Looks like it started off having a nice growth structure. Keep us posted. Make sure you have proper drainage out of the cup. Purple/Brown may be a mag def. but since you put the MG in Id address that issue first. I wouldnt use MG if you dont have to. IMHO

  4. Mg is some pretty strong fertilizer and not many here use it. If its all you got then use it in very small doses, not at full strength mabye 1/3-1/4 strength mix. But as mentioned above I wouldnt give it any for the time being.

  5. I flushed it 5 times with regular tap water and put it a little farther away from the light.
How do I know if its a mag def? I did some research and it shows the same signs if it potassium def.

  6. Just an update, one of the leaves is dead for sure, and some of the rest have dead parts on them, but the plant is still growing and sprouting leaves so I think I'm good.
Just on a side note, I transplanted into a bigger pot yesterday, and the roots were a lot less spread out than I expected, about an inch in diameter around the base of the stem. Should I be concerned about this?

  7. now that it's in a bigger pot give it water every 3-5 days or when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. see how she does.
