Say that one of us (marijuana user) is really rich. Has TONS of money. Like bill gates money. And say he decides to say 'fuck this county' and leaves and buys an un-habited island and builds it into a town where you make your own decisions about how you live. Sort of have an eye for an eye type of rule, so if someone steels something, the person that they stole it from gets the same thing back from them. Everything kinda goes with the flow and it turns out how its sopost to be. oh yeah and everyone that wants to move there can, BUT if they try to take anymore power then anybody else has, they get kicked the fuck out! This means no police, no goverment, no one that trys to controle you. Would you move there?? P.S only marijuana users are prohibited to come onto this island

sounds good. but how would you kick people out if there was no govt? there should be some sort of govt, or ruler, but not an active one. just one who could act in times of trauma. (for instance if killings started)

thats exactly what anarchy is, no rules (just right.. mmmm outback). In a perfect society where people weren't idiots anarchy would be great, but the reality is were far too unintelligent as a whole to 'behave ourselves' under no rule.
If no rules, then many people would not see the same thing as the right way and would have no rules to follow about it. This country is awesome (besides the antidrug part), go live in a third world country and tell me this place does not rule?

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. This is true. What is also true is that people cannot live without some form of Government. Otherwise anarchy would ensue, and in an anarchy the strong take what they want from the weak until someone stronger comes along. Normally that stronger person turns out to be a bigger tyrant than the last. Government has to be smaller, with a more clearly defined and narrow role. It should not be able to jump into peoples lives and tell them how to live it. A Government should never try to legislate morality. A Government should instead focus on protecting the people. A law is only a law because not following said law would cause harm to another person. This is a very libertarian idea, as some of you probably recognize, but we do not need the government to be our parents, do we? We will not let them do the job anyway, the only difference is under the current system we would be breaking laws, and under the other, we wouldn't be. So, if this Island bought by a rich stoner followed those ideas than I would be most happy to live there. If the rich stoner was the despot of the island, then I probably wouldn't want to live there. Unless of course, I was that despot. Of course, if this was an island of a few hundred people, I don't think you'd really have to worry about laws and anarchy. People in small communities would be better able to police themselves, and would only need some minor form of government (and a volunteer police/military/fire force(s) of course). It could easily be a true democracy, where everyone has a say on everything that will happen. Of course, living in a true democracy takes dedication and is a big responsibility. People need to know issues, and need to know what is going on, in order to make well informed decisions... lol, I don't know that many people who would be able to do that today. I think this island country would need immigrants to pass some kind of test for sure.
Some rich people have built a few islands off of dubi (sp?). I doubt its their own rules though, probly under dubi govt. but i dont know that.
