They never complain and when they do, who cares. I just seen a news article about how the prisons are using prisoners to work in the prison made companies who compete in the regular market and they pay them anywhere from .05 -.50 cents an hour. So, you're thinking what's wrong with that?? Ok, they are manufacturing products and doing labor that would cost at least minimum wage in an ordinary company for less then 1% of the cost of labor. and they are competing in the market with other businesses who have to pay employees in full including workman's comp insurance. So a regular manufacturer can't keep up with those low labor costs and he lays people off. The government wins again. So, that laid off worker can't find another job to feed his family so he does something like grow weed and gets caught, and goes to prison where he is working for the same people who put him out of a job in the 1st place for less the 1% what he was making working at his old job.....the moral of the story is, marijuana will never be legal cuz the gov needs cheap labor. they have to keep people in prisons and we're arguing about how they should stop locking up innocent people?? why would they do that when they need prisoners??
...I was in a maximum secutity prison for a few years and worked while I was incarcerated for a company that made all the pouches and flashlight holders on police belts....they also made spinning tops for children and nice hawaiian shirts for this company Hawaiian Shirts-Men's Hawaiian Shirts-Women's Hawaiian Dresses-Hawaiian Clothing-Rayon Hawaiian shirts,Rayon Hawaiian clothing,Hawaiian shirt,Aloha Shirts, tropical Hawaiian shirts, tropical Shirts,Mens Hawaiian Shirts,Hawaiian Camp shirt,Hawaiian clot ...they paid us $6.66 per hour but we only got $3.33 of that.....they would only let us work 4-5 hours per day.....they kept 1/2 of your money for "victim funds, housing and board" ...it sounds pretty sweet when if your the prisioner when you start the job, but those whores that run the place, work the place like a sweat shop.....rows and rows of sowing machines...they are constantly on a powertrip because they know that the inmate values his job...it's pretty sad. I was lucky enough to be able to quit that job because my family looked out for me while I was in there by sending me money...but some of those guys in there don't have family and would probably suck a dead man's dick to keep their job.
Fuck that I wouldn't work if I was in prison, they already give me free food and a bed. If I was a lifer I would spend every waking moment plotting my escape not doing fucking laundry.
Exactly. And the prohibition + disinfo are a massive source of income to the tobacco, medical and industrial companies. In fact, legalizing marijuana and using it up to full potential would completely obliterate these companies unless they decided to join in. But since they profit from sick and dying people as well as the illegal status, there's no reason to ever expect any changes to this whole problem.
thats capitalism. also the private prison industry makes states sign a contract saying they will keep the prisons at 90% capacity. so whats they easiest way to keep up that bargain? lock up people who's only crime was smoking a fucking plant...
An open letter to all Americans In America money is power but fortunately speech is still free. As a citizen I feel a tremendous disconnect with my Government and a helplessness to have my voice heard and my concerns accurately represented. In all my years watching the process, it's seemed that the sides grow closer and closer in their views and stewardship of this country. A third party has always been marginalized and used as a scapegoat for the failures of those who come in second. I live in fear every day of my imagined freedoms being lost by the prohibition of marijuana. With no logic or basis in scientific fact, this draconian law impacts every citizen of this country as well as the world. The loss of potential to all communities by criminalizing all who are caught is immeasurable; children grow up in homes broken by mandatory sentencing, those sentenced are branded by this criminality forever. The current Presidential race shows little empathy for my concerns; Romney shrugged off a question about it early on and Obama has proven to be less than friendly to the process of accepting the will of the people by playing the heavy hand with matters surrounding providing medicinal marijuana. The third party candidate Gary Johnson is well respected and well spoken, but virtually invisible; I wish all those who read this garbled diatribe will review their feelings on the true course of our country and how this one issue is focal to our advancement of human rights and at least give some consideration to thinking beyond their normal allegiances to lifelong Democratic or Republican party votes.
actually romney said he will very aggressive on medical marijuana. im terrified that he might win and set marijuana legalization back to where it was in the 90's. also gary johnson isht "the" third party candidate, he is A third party candidate. personally i believe jill stein is the best option for this country. she wants to bring america up to the standards set by every other first world country and lead in marijuana legalization while taking money out of politics, also eliminate the electoral college that under the right circumstances will allow someone who lost the popular vote too win like what happened with bush and move to an actual democratic solution. while i disagree with most libertarian beliefs (mostly on the basis that they want to bring us even farther back then we currently are but in this case its not as bad as staying on the path we are headed) any of the 3rd party options are far better than the big 2.
...that ol' story changes quickly once your on the other side of the fence, homie...the food fucking SUCKS, I feed my dog better food....seriously!....the beds are piss-proof, fire retardant plastic bricks you have no clue.....I lifted weights my whole bit (took 2nd in the 198lb class ) ...I'd try to escape if I had a life bit, maybe...however, 12 guntowers & 3 electric fences w/rolls of razor wire would probably divert that thought......and the laundry man done my laundry for $1 per week.
