Hey GC, I used to be around before, I had a different name, but never really posted much anyways and my account went dormant. But anyways, I've been looking around the micro grows section and the other growing sections and got really inspired to grow. My buddy gave me a decent amount of bag seeds from some mids and I've started five of them in a Burpee greenhouse starting kit. (or something like that) The first 3 were started out of the soil, but all 5 have now been in the soil for 5 days, two are really coming along and two more have sprouted. Here are some pictures from yesterday (day 4) and I'll be updating on a regular basis. The setup for now is just the seedling starting cups with some sort of organic soil that came with them, with one 40w CFL (6500k), watering them with water filtered through my Brita because for now I figure that's better than tap water. It's surrounded by binders and hidden under my bed to keep nosey people away, but will soon be moved to a friend's house where the plants can be more safely grown than my apartment. Back to cheifin on my super lemon haze, any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
They look very nice , green & healthy Seedling m8 ... Good luck with everything you might want to start thinking about your ventilation , I would build some sort of frame on your wall so you can box It out Or you could use a box , plastic storage - even If you put an osculating Fan in there blowing on them little plants would do the trick ... & You could use 1 or 2 Pc fans for exhausting air out of the box , A small hole will be sufficient for an In-take of air . . . Good Luck with It all man .
Is your light always that far away from the plants ? - I can see on the photo the light is too far from the plants & Will cause the little seedlings to stretch to the light .... To be honest you shouldn't have them Under direct light ( artificial / Sunlight ) You should keep them In the corner of your room somewhere shaded from direct light I was reading this recently & have found It work well ... not watering before & when you have planted the seed Is good for the plant , becuase It makes It easier for the First root of the plant to find Its way through the soil ( minimal effort ) & Lots Of Co2 In the soil for the root to breathe = -] I wouldn't take them from under that light now - It will be too late , Its nothing to worry about believe me ... buts Its something you might want to consider when you germinate your next lot of seed & plant them
nice man i got similar cups for starting seeds. im only starting one tho due to space. i got mines hidden pretty well lmao....it on a bookshelf with some clothes covering over the bookshelf xD.one of those light fixtures you hang off a carhood u can plug in.with a DIY 4in computer fan for air blowing on the plant and bulb. also gonna add a smaller 2in fan but it is much stronger, will connect this to a cardboard tube to suck air into the shelf cuz the slothes is blocking air.
your advice is somewhat on point, but youve got a few things backwards. 1st plants do need to be under direct light as soon as they break soil. The intensity of light will determine how far away it is. But w/ cfls they can be 2in from plant. They need light not a dimly lit corner. If u take a seedling and stick it in a corner w/ min light itll stretch to where ever light is comin from. 2nd the plants leaves r the only part of plant that utilizes co2.....the rootzone needs OXYGEN!!! If u want to get oxygen too rootzone use h2o2(hydrogen peroxide) the roots need oxygen. Not trying to down ur advice bong, just want zig to get off on tha right foot. No harm meant. Goodluck zig and bong w/ your grows.
Is this your theory ? Or do you actually Know this - Experienced It for yourself have you ;l ] ??? Putting a seedling under direct light will cause the plant to stretch , because The young plants are still very delicate, you should not place them in direct sunlight or just below a lamp , because they could burn If they stretch all the way to light ... Please know what your on about before you correct someone lol =-] Sorry :[ Iv just had a blaggin night / day : @ @ @ Sorry to come across as a **** That Is right I do apologize for that
you are right and wrong i think.indoor lighting yea you can put in direct lighting and as close as possible IF its appropriate like when i had a 15watt florescent tube the seedling was nearly 3-4 cm away from the bulb.it was ok. if i had it farther it would have stretched cuz its a weak light.i also had a small computer fan blowing on it the bulb and plant. if u keep it in corner of room far from light it will stretch cuz its searching for light. outdoors yes i think you can put seedling in direct sunlight. yes it might strech cuz the sunlight is very powerful and good for the plant cuz plants want the sunlight.
I can't be right & wrong , :lol ] I only know what I read :/ & From experience , I'm not saying I know everything there Is to know & I'm not saying What I have read, Is right - But I have tried these methods out before advising to other people ... I'm not going to tell someone a method that I think Is the best way If I don't know my self from trying It out ; ] Good Luck with ur grow Zig Zag - hope everything goes well for you man =]
