just wanted to get some feedback on something i was pondering while high...

remember waaay back when, when you barely knew what weed was. im not sure about anyone else, but i first started hearing about weed sometime during my middle school years, but people at that age are still very impressionable, and are mostly going off of what their parents/guardians/friends say. its hard to remember that far back, but i feel like back then, i almost thought of weed as what i now think of things like shrooms, ecstacy, maybe even some harder drugs. Things that make you hallucinate and make your heartbeat go crazy, things that CAN go wrong. when my dad would see a crackhead, he'd say "thats why you should stay away from pot", and things like that. i think that, for the average child/teenager atleast, this leads to a common misconception that smoking some ganja is going to make you jump off a skyscraper thinking you can fly. i wanted to know if my experiences were just different, so i set out on a mission. i have a little brother that is 12, and i asked his friends' parents if i could briefly talk with their kids about drugs so i could get information together to get a presentation going. Of the 5 kids (ages 10-14), three of them told me that smoking marijuana makes you extremely hyper and that it can kill you, and to sum up everything else they said, you basically go nuts. one of the kids told me that after you smoke it, whenever you look at people they turn into colourful animals and shapes and you think your in a different world. the last kid told me that it makes you get stuck on the couch, and you just feel way different...which I thought was pretty close.

i just wanted to get some feedback on what you thought weed was like as a child, versus how you look at smoking now that you smoke it
    (i hope :smoke:)

    -thank you

  2. Yep, the current education system does not really want to "educate" kids about drugs and alcohol, rather just use scare tactics to keep kids away. They fill young kids heads with stores of drunk drivers and people that do some things on weed to keep kids from really becoming educated on the "vices".

  3. thank you, it is sad is that the people that need this information most are the most informed, many younger people AND their parents aren't even aware that in a number of states and some countries, marijuana can be prescribed LEGALLY and has great medicinal value!

  4. When I was that age all I thought about marijuana was that it was something people wanted to do but weren't allowed to do in order to feel better about themselves. Which, in many cases, is pretty much the truth but what I didn't understand until I tried it was why.

  5. The last kid was on dat shit lol.

  6. I never really thought of it before i was 19. I mostly didn't want to do it just because of all the problems it would cause in my life if anyone found out i smoked. Winter of 2008 i started researching it just out of curiosity. Found out that it's not bad whatsoever, quite the contrary, it's very good. Started smoking. Told my parents as soon as i started. Now i leave my bongs and pipes out in my room all the time without worrying. My mom, as most moms, is still close minded and does whatever the government tells her out of fear, but i don't give a shit anymore.

  7. I agree with Hooked420. Instead of teaching children about drugs it's pretty much drugs = illegal = bad, very bad.

If we told children the truth about Mary Jane i'm sure there would be a lot more pot heads ;)

  8. fear, and just because its illegal. the only idea that parents have on marijuana is that it is bad because it is illegal, most havent looked into its actual effects on the mind and body, because if they did, they'd be smokin it :hello:

i wish i had gone further and asked older people AND kids, its good to know that im not the only one hearing all of the brainwash propaganda

  9. Yea I thought before I smoked it that it was much more of a 'trip' type drug that made you hallucinate and go into a fantasy world, which pretty much made me want to try it right away lol. But I've been open minded about drugs since probably 5th grade, one of my best friends growing up was from a family of drinkers, his brothers drank, he got drunk in like 6th grade I drank in 6th grade but didn't get drunk (long story didn't drink much, intended to but didn't happen) so I wasn't afraid of drugs, I knew if it was so harmful there would be reports about that, and I've known how to use the internets since I was like 7 so I get my good info :)

but yea I was pretty much destined to be on drugs, so I don't know if I can comment well on this haha but I had no idea what it really did, other than making you see stuff (which it really doesn't) but once I learned it's true effects (got hiiiigh) I fell in love instantly. I love you Mary Jane

  10. I kinda wish you were the only one hearing it

  11. i cant tell if your serious or not..you will all suffer though! :hello:

  12. I was contemplating this exact same thing last week while baked. Kinda interesting how that happens

  13. i knew i couldnt be the only one who has thought about this
