I have come to the recent realization that the word marijuana was a made up word to make the cannabis plant sound like it was bad and to spread propaganda to get it illegalized so why do we continue to call it "marijuana" when by doing so we are actually worsening our situation as tokers anyone think we should call it cannabis ?

It was only negative because of the connection to Mexicans, and that was only negative because everyone was racist as fuck. I don't see any problem with the word itself. Also, "tokers" who ever actually call it marijuana are already rather few and far between, so I think your crusade may be misguided.

I believe that the word has been imbued with prejudice through decades of propaganda. Marijuana is just one of the many words used to trigger programmed prejudice.

The name marijuana has been recognized and used by fans of it for a long time. I have no intention of dropping it from my vocabulary. I would not not spell it as marihuana, though -that's usually the spelling preferred by the government, anti-weed propagandists and the police.
