ok so i had a plant that i was lst'ing, was a male, so i cut most the branches off, & took it out the pot, & threw it in the compost. its been there for like 2 months, & its still alive, & ive been ripping all the leaves off as they grow, (feed them to my turtle, he loves it). even after all this, no pot, onle a few small branches, riping leaves off every 3-4 days, & its still alive, nice and green, trying to grow, but i continue to rip leaves off. & the funy thing is that my female inside is imo, is doing worse, & i dont abuse her, like the one in the compost.
