The Weekends

  1. Hey everyone! As the week progresses along, we all look forward to the weekend. The weekend for my family is standard saturday and sunday. I know for some its different depending on life situations or job requirements but we all know that the weekend goes by way too fast. What is it like for you and what do you do? Do you have any consistant traditions or things that you have to do no matter what? I thought it would be fun to share our weekends or our days off with each other. Here is mine for this week:

Saturday: worked overtime till noon then came home and helped organize and went shopping for my husband and g-pa to work on our vehicles, then wathced a tv show called Grim till really late and then checked out a new band I would recommend everyone to listen to. They are called Alabama Shakes and they are amazing! True Talent :)

Sunday:  morning breakfast for the little ones! I try to make it a point every Sunday to make something special for the kids since the work/school week is so busy we all kind of do our own thing and Saturday is kind of a whatever day lol. Now I'm off to clean and try to squeeze in making some pumpkin banana bread with the leftover pumpkins from Halloween  : [ :yummy:]

  2. My weekends are typically the same.

Most Friday nights I perform with my band. Sometimes at a house party, sometimes at an event, and sometimes at a bar.

Saturday and Sunday? I try to sleep in, but I'm usually up with a coffee on the back veranda by 6AM. The rest of the house starts to move over the next few hours; sometimes friends will migrate over with fresh bread or fruit for breakfast. We'll cook a spread on the barbecue, and everyone sits down in the back garden like a family.

How I spend the rest of the day really varies (this weekend I've been recording music), but the evenings typically end with our crew of friends and a few stragglers having laughs around a bonfire on the beach or at someone's place. We play guitars and crack into the brews, but it rarely gets very crazy and I'm almost always in bed by 1AM.

It's a predictable life, but I sure dig it.

That's awesome! All of it, sounds relaxing! Predictable is contentment is happiness in my opinion.

  4.
Predictability is stagnant is dull in mine.

It is awesome, but it's time to shake this bitch up, yannowutimsayin?

  5. My Saturdays are deep cleaning days.  I pick up and clean throughout the week but Saturdays are reserved for thorough scrubbing and sterilizing.  I was raised in a devout Mormon family so Sunday's are usually a rest day.  To this day I cannot bring myself to purchase anything or do any unnecessary work.  Sundays are reserved for the Lord and it's a sacred day.  I do a lot of napping on Sundays.  I love to nap.  It should be an olympic sport.

  6. Wow aha im lucky if i get a weekend like this once a year..

  7. It's a pretty good life;certainly one everyone can have.

Step 1: move to the beach. :smoke:

  8. Friday and Saturday is usually when I got hang out with two of my best friends, We always chill outside on lawn chairs, and many a cigarette and pipe hit are had, with the occasional joint thrown in. That's really all we do. Just chill and talk, and I love it every time. The rest of the weekend I'm usually just doing some cleaning and laundry and stuff. It's pretty tame, but my heavy partying days are few and far between these days.

Weekends seem to have a trend of catch up or deep cleaning lol all the stuff we put off through the week. So far today I've cleaned, made breakfast for the little ones and updated my grow journal!

I made the little ones Ham(from leftover thanksgiving spiraled honey ham) and eggs with biscuits and cranberry sauce!
