I think Randy Marsh said it best... That's the reason why pot should be 18+, and that's what we should be teaching our kids. Discuss.
by that logic, videogames, television, and the internet should all be 18+ as well. i think you should take another route with the wording of your perspective...maybe? maybe not.
I started smoking at 10 years old (even smoked crack at 10, no joke. 10 year old addicted to crack, yet I didnt know what it even was really!), anyways, I turned out fine... Besides my frequent trips in the back of the po-lice car, and rollin wit some crazy *****s n shit. Plus, the way your quote goes, it seems like it's saying pot makes you ok with being bored, and when your bored you should be learning and being creative, so it would seem as though pot would HELP you learn and be more creative. Idk, jus my 2 cents, weed's always helped me be more relaxed and creative, and I actually ENJOY learning when I'm baked. I watch Discovery chanel and the history chanel's and shit baked. But I wouldn't watch it sober, thas fa sho.
it bugs me when people say weed is 100% safe, because it isnt. Sure, its pretty safe compared to other drugs, but it does have some negative effects from smoking it for example, my memory is soo bad. I cant remember shit.
I'm too tired to get into any kind of argument at all. I've stated my opinion, I don't think I need to go in any deeper than that.
I agree to an extent with that. Maybe not 18+ but you do need to be mature to handle weed.If you haven't yet found a hobby or something to do with your life and you smoke I could understand that some people would just smoke and chill all day and never do anything productive.
I smoked weed when I am bored. I have some of the best conversations and learning experiences of my life through weed. If you want to be lazy and do nothing with your life odds are that is what you are going to do regardless of if you smoke weed or not.
I always told my kids that they needed to take care of buisness and live reality before they use substances to escape it. They dont need that shit when they are mentally developing. They have no idea of the pressures in life that await them. If they start using pot to ease the stress of their trivial prepubescent problems, then what gonna take the edge off when they face real problems? And trust me as you get older your opinion will change on this and many other beliefs that you hold.
Alls I have to say is weed makes you lazy. If you stoners don't want to admit it, that's fine. But I've met person after person, example after example, to show me that it ruins motivation. Beyond that, I've experienced it myself and I'm suffering the consequences right now. Smoking daily will negatively effect your life. If you are reading this and say it's bullshit, rest assured, you are the exception to the rule. I've been there. I've had many, many friends who have been there. So please don't tell me it's all in my head. I'm not reading stuff that tells me this. I was in the 9th grade before I ever smoked a joint in my life and the best athelete in the school, star runningback, became a pothead and by his senior year didn't even play football anymore. I knew what daily smoking could do before I ever fell into the trap myself. My Fax is right. It should be treated the same as tobacco or alcohol. The current system makes it too easy for kids to get, and some kids simply can't handle it. A lot of you saying - well I turned out alright. Are you guys pursuing post secondary education right now? Do you have a career? Or are you working for 12 bucks an hour still at 22 years old? I've had wonderful experiences with weed. Truly and honestly enlightening experiences that I feel blessed to have had that would not have occured if not for weed. But that does not change the fact that making marijuana a daily or semi-daily habit is a poor decision. Once again, if you disagree, you are the exception to the rule. Believe that.
Listen to you my man, " I watch Discovery chaNel and the history chaNel's and shit baked." You just used watching the discovery channel as evidence of weed's positive influence on your learning.
I'm 18 and I'm waiting to find out if I get a $16 an hour, 40 hour a week job with full benifits. Im 99% sure I'm going to get that job too It's also $24 an hour for each hour on over time. Plus I have a BEAUTIFUL girlfriend who is pregnant with my kid. Honestly, as of... I dont know,, earlier today, I don't know how I could really be happier.... maybe if I had some herb, I ran out . I'm also going to be starting my EMT certification classes in a week or 2, and I'm going to join the volunteer fire department. No joke, all this from a "lazy stoner". I want to make something out of my life, so I can provide a great life for my kid and my girl. I'm also planning on movin away from the hood, cuz I love my homies n shit, but I do NOT want to raise my kid in this environment.
Being lazy and lacking motivation are two vastly different things. And neither one is effected chemically in your brain so no Marijuana doesn't make you lazy or unmotivated. It's the person's reaction to it it, not it's actual effects. you don't think there are lazy/unmotivated NBA players out there do you? The only drug the NBA doesn't test for is marijuana because of the sheer volume of players they'd lose.
im really glad to hear you say that (or read or whatever). Working hard to make a better life for your daughter. Thats what its all about.
There really aren't any rules to smoking. Some people can handle it, some can't. There are a few rare, gifted people that can not only function while high, but excel at everything they do. There are people in my school who get straight A's in all AP classes and on their way to ivy league schools, and they smoke everyday, some before school. Basically it comes to the point where, when someone gets stoned, what do they want to do. If people get high to escape life, it doesn't matter how much or how often, the result will not be good. Truthfully, in my life, I've realized that I'm not productive when I'm high, therefore I usually don't do it on school nights to avoid complications with school. Now when I do it on weekends, I have a blast with my friends, and it loosens me up. The right amount is different for each person and its no one's place to tell anyone else how much to smoke. It's each person's choice.
Haha, which part? Your a good member man, rare for a new member. If you got AIM or MSN messenger, send me the screen name in a PM and Ill hit ya up on there if ya wanna talk bro.
What is vastly different about it? Either way excessive marijuana use creates both. What do you mean neither one is effected chemically in your brain? Last time I checked the amount of tests on the effects of weed on your brain is extremely extremely low. In fact, we JUST recently figured out it doesn't cause cancer. You have no evidence to support your claim that it does not effect your brain chemically to cause less motivation. It surely effects your brain chemistry in other ways. Ever notice the amount of NBA players with insane talent that never take it to the next level? You can almost pick the users from the non users. Plus that is their job, if they don't perform, they don't make money, so they must overcome that to just survive. And um, Ricky Williams anyone? It was his job, his livelihood, and he STILL couldn't overcome it. I had a class with a kid in 9th grade who said to me when asked what he wanted to do with his life, "i just want to have a house and smoke weed." It boggled my mind that someone could have such little ambition. After smoking semi-daily for a couple years now, I've actually felt that exact way myself on many occasions especially when I'd smoke daily for months. I would think I'd be as happy as a pig in shit if I could just chill and smoke weed for the rest of my life. Give me a house and a grow-op, i'll be straight.
