I was really disappointed in this movie and the only thing that held it together for me was the ending when they fly off to shoot the dog. Maybe its just no other character stood out like Kurt Russell did in the 82 film. Don't get me wrong, Im a huge fan of the 82 film but just didn't feel this one had the lore as the original.
i havent seen either of them but i think i read somewhere that the new one is suppost to serve as a prequel
watch john carpenters version from 1982 or the thing from another world from the 50's disregard this hollywood remake garbage
It was better than I expected, course I didn't expect very much. Definitely a prequel to John Carpenter's remake, and interestingly, there is a game from 2002 or so that serves as a sequel to JC's movie. The characters weren't as memorable. And the CGI for the Thing was pretty lame. JC's remake has this movie beat on that aspect. I did like the ending. It was a nice touch.
