So I primarily came to this forum to learn about cultivation, these days I'm a rare sight in that portion of the forum, I most often come straight here ( okay maybe thats slightly sad but whatever.)

Anyway, I came to this forum uninformed, Mis informed, slightly biased, and lacking a moral structure on which to base my beliefs on.

Now I feel I have a solid moral foundation to look to when deciding where I stand on an issue, I am aware of many resources for information that I would have never even looked for, and I have learned an entirely different philosophy of thinking that I previously had barley any grasp on.

I figured I'd make a thread to thank the blades that helped me get there, anyone who has a similar wish to thank someone here, go for it.

    Aaronman
    Kylesa
    Kstigs
    Mirvs
    Buddy Dink
    Mju

Thanks for taking the time you took when I asked questions, and for having the patience to keep explaining even when I was refusing to believe at first. Of everything I have learned myself via the Internet, you guys contributed to probably the most valuable chunk of knowledge I have now.

    edit: and don't forget spikoli

  3. Not at all dude, I was a disillusioned liberal at the start of 09.

The posters mentioned above really challenged my perceptions and what the msm was perpetuating about the POTUS.

Slowly but surely, I found myself agreeing with the foreign policy hypocrisy of Obama and his crony connections to Goldman Sachs, GE, etc.

What really blew the door off for me though, was this interview:

Ron Paul - The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - 09/29/09 - Video Clip | Comedy Central

  4. I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for coming into my heart and making me a better person...............

    Nah only messing...
That bad boy Satan has my back...;)

But on a serious note thanks to all listed above and those who have posted so far, oh and that bad boy August something ? ( can't remember the rest of his name ??? :) ) for bringing the good Doctor Paul to my attention...
Living here in Europe, Ron Paul is not someone i had heard of before...

I am not a Libertarian but Ron Paul's foreign policy views are enough for me to get on board...

I shall raise a large glass of red wine to you all tonight chaps...:)

  5. Dude, completely off topic, but on the road this morning I saw someone with your signature as a bumper sticker, and right next to it was a bumper sticker with an American and Israeli flag that said "peace starts when terror stops"

I reeeeaaaaaly wanted to roll down my window and point out the hypocrisy, but I managed to not.

  7. What happened to Dronetek? He got banned i think

  8. Yea everyone listed already has helped me out tremendously.

I've been a Paul fan for awhile now, but I never REALLY understood the pholosphy behind him until I came to this section. I definitely didn't even know what the hell being an Austrian meant lol

I am young though, so I never had any real political opinions that I was set in until I heard about RP and started reading up a bit.

I really can't thank everyone enough! :smoke:

  9. Damn , I wanted to be the first to mention the late and great Dronetrek.

This is indeed a great place for information. I do enjoy seeing there are some like minded blades all over the USA\world that have some common sense. The above mentioned ppl have indeed helped me in my quest for knowledge.

  10. i'm going right to the top and thanking Ron paul

    screw all you bitches...

  11. Yes, thank you to everyone here who shares the message of freedom and liberty. You all helped to open my mind.

  12. I appreciate everyone in this section of the forum. It provides more thought provoking topics that some of the other areas I frequent...

Just wish some more non-US issues would be discussed; but to be fair, I couldn't contribute many good threads to it, I've still yet to understand French politics; just about figured out the two parties are the PS (socialists) and the UMP (conservatives) but that's a far as it goes...

  13. I had never heard of Ron Paul until coming to this forum, so thanks GC for removing me from blissful apathy and cursing me with knowledge.

And lets not forget to thank the opponents of libertarian idealogues, for without you this forum would be an even more nauseating circle jerk. You brazenly stand at the center of our bukaki crossfire and resist the inevitable conversion to minarchism with bull-headed persistence.

dalars, hankmoody, the guy with the horses ass, you guys just suck. :D

  14. HA!! i have learned more about economics from this forum in the last two years than i had in the previous 34.

i came to libertarianism by way of social liberalism...easy transition to make once you realize that "force" is the only crime that exists.... but in that process i got smacked down by Kstigs a few times...Aaronman and Kylesa too. Auggie has always been a voice of reason...all the more profound because he rarely gets too ramped up about much

two years ago i would have called my self a financially conservative liberal. these days.......well, i am designing my AN-CAP tatoo in my spare time if that means anything.

  15. I'm pretty sure it was a combination between Ron Paul in 2008 and aaronman in early 2009 that made me make the switch to minarchism/libertarianism. After that, I started reading Rothbard (probably after hearing about him a few times on these forums) and became an an-cap.

  16. You guys got me into this mess as well!

    & I appreciate that ..

  17. Thank you for including me in that Southrn.

aaronman, kylesa, stigs, AHuman and a close IRL friend are responsible for bringing me back to the light. I truly envy their ability to communicate and incredible discipline/restraint.

  18. I was already a Dr. Paul supporter and a student of Austrian economics before coming to this site, but I've definitely learned more since coming here. All you guys are still awesome though for spreading the message in a good way. I don't have the patience for it myself. I'd rather troll the statists most of the time rather than debate with them, lol. Anyone who spreads the message of freedom deserves thanks.

  19. This place helped me understand the necessity for communication skills to be sure.

I can't count how many time I wrote multiple paragraphs to state my case just to have one of the guys I mentioned come along and convey it within a couple sentences.

  20. I got this email today:

So I started to search if there's any other Libertarian candidates running and found this:

    Liberty-Candidates.org

    Could be an interesting year.
