The Swiss do it better

  1. The Swiss could teach us all a thing or two.

  2. Its a totally different system of government. No wonder its better. Our big, bloated behemoth of a federal government exists only to get bigger and gain more power. It certainly does not take the will of the people into any consideration. Just a bunch of power hungry career criminals, excuse me, politicians out for their own best interests with absolutely zero accountability for their actions.

  3. The Swiss have more freedom than most counties. That's what they do better, getting closer to liberty.

  4. Yea Switzerland, Norway and Sweden are all good examples of efficient and well structured government. They spend the money on things that benefit the people like universal healthcare instead of on the military. They have a fair amount of transparency and hold people accountable for their actions.

They also don't have the incredibly large corporations that the U.S. does though so it is a different situation.

  5. I plan on visiting Switzerland and Austria in may or June. probably with Germany as well.

I think the reason Switzerland is doing well in my opinion, is directly related to them not being in the EU.

  6. Switzerland has mandatory socialized health care, cumpulsory military service for men, and many other things that most everybody here hates. The population of Switzerland is less than that of New York City.

  7. No one's perfect, but overall there is more freedom there than the US, which is why they're better. Of course most people only look at things extremely simply, narrowly, and therefore inaccurately, and so see one thing like socialized health care and proclaim it to be a heavily socialized place when it's actually more free than the US, from a real freedom perspective, libertarian freedom.

  8. National healthcare would be much easier to manage with a population less than New York city.

If it was introduced in America, with a government that can't run anything for shit, it would be a disaster.

  9. They do a really good job, but I still hate when people here cite the Swiss as reason we should have universal healthcare.

  10. I would guess that not getting involved in wars is probably the biggest advantage over there. The antithesis of American policy, but what are you going to do about it? Can't really stop gung-ho types from joining the military, now can you?

As to healthcare: What sociopath came up with the idea that some people should have health care while others should not? Why would anyone support the idea of people making money off of other people's problems? This is what the Fed does and ya'll bitch about that dawn til dusk.

Universal healthcare is a good idea. Good for Switzerland for having its shit together. I'm almost motivated to go steal a flag from Wal- Mart and burn it this evening.

    Iceland also does better:
Iceland's economy recovering well after bankers jailed

  11. I'm not saying they're wrong about their health care system.

How do you feel about the mandatory military service for all Swiss males?

  12. hmm what happened to the evils of statism?

its only bad when the US does it now?

  13. They get to keep their pop gun and 1 numbered bullet after leaving the army and reserves, so it's OK.

  14. What are you talking about? Switzerland is more free than the US, that means less statism. Less statism = win.

  15. I don't like it. It's a form of slavery, but it's still better than the US system because of what their military does, which is pretty much nothing. Their foreign policy strength outweighs the negative of conscription.

  16. But Iceland did it best. Swiss banking means never having to admit where the stolen gold came from!

There's good money in being Nazi Neutral.;)

They're so secretive, they can even hide a whole country! (Lichtenstein):D

If Gollum were real, he'd be a Swiss banker.

  17. They protect the privacy that all people should have a right to. Are you saying that's a negative?

  18. That's what essentially every job does. It provides for a need that another person has.

  19. Yes but labor is voluntary misery. People don't choose to be quadriplegic, or have chron's disease. Is society really supposed to say tough luck enjoy the medical bills when this happens? If so why?

  20. Well because otherwise we violate someone else's liberties.

People don't choose to be quadriplegic, and I don't choose for them either.

If they aren't charged for it, someone else will be.

The doctor may choose to do it for free if they like, but to make them would be slave labor (more or less).

My rights don't end where your problems begin.
