The story of Genesis, where is the logic?

  1. How could there be a "before creation?" Part of creation IS time. There is no "before" creation, because before implies time. In terms of time and space, all we percieve, all that there is is God'd creation. But because God transcends all of creation, and yet through his will it was created, nothing exists which you can say is separate from God. You don't have to say we're God, but we flow from God and God is within us and cannot be called "separate" from us, for without his creation there is no God, because God is not bound by his creations time and space, and without all of these concepts, what is there? All that exists is God's will. All of creation, everything that exists, is God's will. Think of God as simply an expression, a divine thought-stream, however you wanna look at it. Creation is it's outflow.

  2. Okay, forget Genesis, where is the logic in the book of Revelation? There has to be parts of the bible that are speaking metaphorically, and not literally, and yet I was always taught in church that the only right interpretation of the bible is the most literal one.

Also, I struggle with the whole idea that there have been entire cultures that knew nothing of the bible or were ever exposed to it and yet, they are supposed to get saved?? How, if they have never heard of it? To add to this, what about retarted people or people who lack the cognitive ability to understand salvation? How are they supposed to get saved?

  3. Did they teach you all about animal sacrifices at church? How about the proper way to stone a person? What about Joshua's sweeping military campaign that destroyed Canaan? Oh wait, that was an internal collapse, and that's where we get the early writings of the bible. The "Israelites" are believed to have actually been Canaanites from dispersed cities, nomads, and a handful of escaped Egyptian slaves. Contrary to unquestioning belief, it is believed that there was no such people as the Israelites until around 1600 BCE. Do you ever read the books that were allegedly written by Moses and come across instances where you feel like you read nearly the exact same thing just a few lines ago? That my friend, is a merging of stories over generational gaps. It really makes reading the biblical story of the flood choppy. 2 Of every kind of animal, 7 pairs of every clean animal, Noah sends out a raven, then a dove. You can find more of these instances if you look at a bible.
