As my bud dries it has a good smell but when it totally dries it loses it's scent . When I put it in a mason jar it regains a little smell but not a knock-out smell. Am i doing something wrong....I had in jar 2 weeks so far. Burping 1 time a day
how dry do you let your buds get before you cure them? do you let the buds get dry or the stems get dry? what strain are you growing.
Sage and sour.....I let the buds dry almost till the stems snap when bending....then paper bag em about 24hrs before final trim and then place them in mason jars. never tried growing this strain before......but had a sample last night and taste was divine and smooth smoke
First, try not to over-dry/let your buds become crispy. If this is not the case, then you may just have a low-odor strain. I remember when I grew some Northern Lights a few years back the lack of smell had me amazed. That strain would be excellent for a stealth grow. Do you know what strain you're growing? As for your curing process, sounds spot on to me. Once I get a solid snapping sound from my stems when they are bent, they go into mason jars. I keep them in complete darkness in my drying room where the temps are in the high 60s/low 70s and humidity is around 50%. Once or twice a day the jars are opened and aired out. After about a month, they are either put in a cabinet for consumption or vacuum sealed and refrigerated for storage. Have you tried the buds? Is anything wrong with the potency? *Wow, 3 posts while I vaped a bowl and typed this. Sounds like everything's a-ok to me.
yeah I have always told when drying you should have dry buds not dry stems that shows you still have some moisture in your bud by drying them to long (stems crack not bend) you aren't getting full potential out of curing them. By curing it your trying to pull out any extra crap in the bud and let it slowly pull out the chlorophyll making it a better smoke. I don't think your getting that by letting the stems get crispy. Just a thought might be a reason why your not getting the smell your looking for. And you are smelling a bit more from curing because they very little moisture you have in the bud is coming out giving you that smell your looking for.
Hey aym, how is that sage n sour? I'm always looking for new seed recommendations and love both SAGE and Sour Diesel. All cerebral or is there some body to it? Can you function or does it blow your mind? I'd love a smoke report if you get a chance.
