The Small Things in Life

  1. A poem

The oven beeps loud to inform my thick skull,
Cookies are ready nearly time to indulge,
Minutes they sit till the temperature drops,
Not till their cold but hot they are not,
Warm and gooey a delicious remedy,
Starts with a crunch and ends with comforting soft qualities,
Dotted with chips to explode on ya buds,
And leave you feeling better no matter the painful bumps,

It's funny how the small things in life,
Can change your mood when the future seems far less bright,
Not a store bought kit assembled to patch it up quick,
But to freeze it in time maybe just long enough,
To let your mind compute with ration and precision,
Then in an instant you just might gain control,
And not swerve off this bumpy, painful, beautiful road.
