See this is the thing the simpsons is just too ''kiddy'' for me it loox like to me that the creators are targeting the cartoons for a younger audience. Mean while family guy is aimed at more mature audience. Thats why it won.

Did Family Guy gain fame just off the material they "stole" from The Simpsons? If so I would understand. But 99% of their jokes are their own. That video highlights how many scenes? Do you know how many seasons deep Family Guy is? Mencia is put in a bad light aside from his material stealing because he denies stealing material to no end. I bet if McFarlane was confronted he'd atleast admit the similarities in the material or how it can be viewed negatively.

like i said its a funny show, but the fact of the matter is they did copy some material, possibly all accidental, possibly not. I watch it every night on adult swim so i don't have a problem with it, simpsons and family guy r both great shows

Family guy didnt win shit, Know why? Cuz family guy wont be on for nearly as long as the simpsons, it doesnt have that staying power. Sure, as of right now Family guy may be the more enjoyable show, but Prime against prime? lets not even get into it. The Simpsons first 9 seasons or so absolutely shit on family guy.
You can't compare the two shows. up untill season 9 The simspson was a smart well thought out show, where the jokes revolved around the plot (which were very well thought out) family guy is a show will mindless random humour, where most of the jokes don't really relate to the plot (which are just crazy things happening) family guys is a funny show if you like that kind of homour, i personally find it really stupid and not funny at all. my point is the 2 shows aren't the same, so you can't compare one to the other saying that famliy guy is a better show, vice versa, and you can't base a show on ratings because family guy is just "what's in" at the moment, just like The simpson were back in the 90's. plus you can't expect a show to still be fresh and funny after 18 seasons.
Family Guy appeals to the lesser intelligent so of course it's gonna be the more popular. Theres some gems in the simpsons that a lot of people don't pick up. I am by no means calling all family guy fans stupid, it just seems that the jokes are of lesser quality and intellect.
I think that overall the Simpsons is a better show. The classic seasons are just unbeatable. I still love Family Guy, but quite a few of their jokes make me cringe. Definitely right behind the Simpsons.
They both blow now. The original Family Guy was acutall funny and teh begginning to middle Simpsons was legendary. Now South Park just blows them out of the water (except for that last episode). King of the hill is a close second.
I found south park the best, except the first couple of seasons. The simpsons isn't very funny and I wasn't really around for it's golden run (so I hear). Family guy can sometimes be funny or not, it just depends if the irrelevant joke they just did was funny or not, nothing has to do with the plot. It can get kind of old.
This is worse than the time I took a walk in the park. Oh shit thats lame.... the only reason people like family guy is because its so rude and violent. Simpsons isnt, its just plain out better. family guy has no plot im so sick of: this is liek the time I went and got botox, and the cue in lame ass rude joke that makes twelve year olds giggle. Simpsons ftw.
