while my current babies are finishing flowering i would like to begin my next round of germination. this time with serious strains & lighting. this is what i plan to do & some things i have questions about - someone please set me straight if something appears off. 1. soak seeds overnight in water 2. plant seeds in peet pellets or weak seed starter mix (availability might be an issue for the pellets) 3. leave planted seeds covered in the dark in a warm place until they start popping. 4. put them under not-so-strong lights. (24/0 or 18/6??? for 3 weeks?)
I germinate right from rockwool or soil. I don't germ them in a paper towel or the dozen other methods. If you decided to germ first, stick them tail in, 1/4" deep into your growing medium. Keep lights on 24/7 until you go to flowering. Why not so strong lights? The stronger the better. Just not so strong as to produce unwanted heat. You should keep the light 1-4 inches away from the seedling. Be very careful not to use any nutrients during the seedling stage.
