The Sativa Seedbank

well i ONLY have one strain from them, mixed sativa, but i can't speak to quality yet as i've only been growing it for daily leaflet trim until the plants all stressed out and died. it's NOT a mix of various strains like the description makes it sound though, it's a multiple strain HYBRID. it has tiny seeds that take a little extra time to pop, but once that strain takes root, it's super vigerous and 100% viable! i was more interested in sativa mexicana which i would have bought instead. regardless of whether a strain is F1 or F2... ANY sativa will be better than the couchlocking & spacey crap all of the dealers push on you these days. i KNOW that my mexican commercial brick bagseed was awesome indoors even if it came from stomped over plants.

sativa seedbank is ONE source for cheap sativas. nirvana, as you know, is another source for even cheaper ones and DOES have a great reputation for the quality of it's knockoffs. if you had the space and time, haze would be the best choice, but you'd get nice smoke from jock horror, new purple power, durban poison, & pure power plant too. i'm also growing some pure power plant for some african genes as i intend to breed. if you like the taste of black licorice, trust me, get some nirvana durban poison, you'll love it! it's pretty compact for an IBL sativa and it really does taste like licorice which is the most disgusting flavor in the world to me. the high is great though and if someone gave me a bud, i choke through the flavor just for the buzz again.

yet another source for cheap sativas is high quality seeds. i'm growing haze skunk from them. it's a knockoff of the award winning super haze strain. it not only raises skunk #1 from 75% sativa to 87.5%, but a full 50% of the plant will be haze which is the best sativa in the world probably. they also have a thai skunk and a kerala skunk too. haze skunk should be on your shortlist. nirvana has haze 19 skunk, but they claim to use use jamaican haze which may or may not be "the real deal".

i'd really suggest stretch your budget to $30 for spice brothers' C99 splash though. i think spice brothers are out of business as most of their strains have been out of stock at drchronic a long time. it's awesome cinderella 99 with about 5% super trippy lien huanh in it. C99 is probably THE BEST sativa for indoor grows. it's related to super silver haze (the most award winning sativa that's expensive & skunky), jack herer (same genes... diferent breeding order & apollo 11 (lemony & more euphoric than trippy). what makes cindy so special is her low odor which is very floral, her pineapple flavor, her old school trippy & paranoid high and that she matures much faster than most fussy pure sativas. i made sure to grab some spice brothers' C99 splash as well as (lien huanh X A11g) X A11g beans before they're gone forever. the A11 genius beans go for $50 though. C99 is getting harder and harder to find. i saw 5 packs of feminized C99 somewhere for just $25 recently, but i can't remember where and want to use a C99 male for breeding anyways.

i haven't actually ever grown a bud yet so i can't give any definative opinions on any of these strains, but for $20 or less each, try a few and see what YOU like best. you'd pay alot more if you were buying the weed and you WOULDN'T even be getting anything even remotely sativa either right?

the beans i'm most happy to have though will be my kali mist now that i've buckled up and taken the $100 plunge for them. kali mist has an awesome spicy red pepper flavor and a high that super energetic, even speedy and that makes your mind race and feel extra happy. it isn't trippy though. when you want to really get into high end sativas, you have to try kali mist! i've never seen it rated lower than #2 on anyone's top 10 lists. i put trippy thai ahaid of it just because i like the effects and being able to sit still while listening to tunes which i totally couldn't do on KM. i ended up cleaning my house and having fun doing it.

 

Which Sativa dominant hybrid would you think would be easy to grow because I'm tired of smoking couchlock buds. Thanks...

 

you're tired of couchlock? i've been cursing at it at the top of my lungs for 20+ years sonny! LOL i despise it. starting out smoking thai spoiled me for anything but sativas.

i'd say start off with C99. it's trippy and paranoid like a sativa, but it grows quickly like an indica. super silver haze (related) has a bunch of awards, but i won't touch it because it like to skunk up and just smelling skunk puts me in a fould "all indicas must die" mood. the other member of that family you might look into is jack herer, but super silver haze is supposed to be a much better crossing (same exact genes but in a different breeding order) than jack. yet another relative of these is apollo 11, but it sounds a little more indica dominant. the "genius pheno" for A11 is supposed to be the most sativalike it gets.

i've never budded my C99 splash beans out (down to my last 3, so THAT'S going to be my breeding male), but it definately grew squat and looked like an indica but it has a rep for being really trippy.

if you like the taste of licorice, try durban poison. it grows pretty compact and has a real sativa high. if i didn't think licorice was disgusting, i'd grow it for it's radical candy flavor and true sativa buzz.

i'm still psyched about my kali mist order but it's really expensive though. kali isn't trippy like thai (at least in the one bud i was lucky enough to smoke) but it does have a delicious hot red pepper taste and has a buzz that's pure happy energy. it made me so active and alert that i couldn't sit down and listen to tunes and trip out on them like i used to do with thai. i prefer a trippier high, but kali is an awesome buzz for when you want to do something you've been putting off and have fun doing it. it also is rumored to be a favorite with the ladies and i could easily see how so much happy energy could land a fella in some interesting situations.

i'd say start with low fuss, low odor C99. then go for purer sativas once you're ready to devote extra time and space to them. had i known about grapefruit before i bought my C99 splash seeds, i would have went for that instead as it's 90% sativa vs. probably 75%. from everything i've read about Cinderella 99, i can see why jack herer himself calls it "the holy grail". a floral scent beats a skunky one every time in my book.

super haze (aka skunk haze) might be good too. i'm giving that a test drive as it only cost me $20 at high quality seeds. i HAVE tried "75% skunk #1" but it just seemed like another crappy couclocker to me. boosting it 87.5% sativa with a full 50% of it being the allmighty trippy thai haze sounds like a definate step in the right direction to me. pure haze would be best, but just try to grow a tree that might not even flower indoors!

 

Hello ...yes i suggest you give our new varieties a try ...Female Seeds.nl ..is now using our genetics , since Nirvana varieties are Pure Varieties

next time around, i'm VERY LIKELY to try femaleseeds.nl grapefruit as cindy X pure sativa sounds even better to me. gotta love those 4 packs!
