They risk a lot of loss by making pot legal, and would have to pay massive start up fees to start any new business. And the MJ business has a hell of a lot more competition than lumber and pharma industries do. Like I said, they essentially have monopolies on those things already, and they don't want to lose it.

Seriously, look at mainstream music; then ask yourself why todays youth is considered 'increasingly violent,' sex-obsessed, and rebellious. Way back then when cotton was being picked by the slaves; the slave owners were in he government and had all their money invested in cotton, when they found out hemp could replace cotton they feared losing money so they abused their power and made hemp illegal, cannabis sativa is a cousin of hemp so it was also outlawed. Over the years when marijuana began coming more popular for recreational use the government started pumping out loads of propaganda bullshit to scare people away from marijuana and the legal issues IMO are kind of acting like a pendulum, it just swung left and is about to go back to its original state.

Mexicans also smoked weed when they were at war, they were always lazy so the government took away their weed and they rebelled by not fighting. Americans didnt want their troops to be like the Mexicans

this is incredibly true. i don't believe the united states government will stop being a corrupt system. think of how many innocent people are jailed for smoking, possessing and selling a harmless herb. then think about how many actual criminals there are in prison and their offenses. is rape equivalent to a growing operation? also consider the fact that cigarettes and alcohol, two completely destructive products, are freely distributed when something that does nothing other than relax you is not available unless for specific medical useage

If weed was legal, it would make people HAPPY, it would make people CARING. It would make people paranoid and cautious even though ur high as fuck while driving.

But if your paranoid, you'd never fuck up for that cop to pull you over and charge you the ticket, which then that money would put food on the table for that cop, the judge who looked at you funny when tried appealing the ticket.

EVERYTHING the government does is measured and calculated, anyone remember that starting scene from pineapple express when theyre testing weed on the guy and he cracks a joke and the general makes it illegal. Well they have probably done that over a million times with all types of test subjects to conclude that it doesn't help in no way shape or form and actually enhances the subjects life lol.

If your a scientist controlling a colony of rats, and theres a sickness within them but they know only you have the cure, would they ever leave you? Even though they're just rats, you have the ability to do some fucked up things to them and they will never know what or who the fuck is jacking their friends. BUT, if you give the rats this plant that makes them CHILL and look back on things and always care and follow the righteous path. That rat won't give two shits about you, because he will be AWARE of the situation and the evil fucking scientist.

The same thing happens with the general population controlled by the government. Its not that extreme because we in the end need them because of our SAVAGE and still animal nature. But you can see the imbalance of power clearly.

I know I have presented some extreme level shit but im high and I spit w.e comes to my head really lol. And to be honest with you, weed being legal will take time because something needs to put the government in that circumstance.

FOR EXAMPLE, California is a place thats world-known. I'd compare it to NY just because of that bigass hollywood Beverly hills sign that comes to mind. The government is obviously involved there and yet weed is legal and shit. You know why, because that place is so packed it feels like your in fucking downtown Thailand. When you have THAT many people in a closed place and so many criminals in jails that the industry is being privatized for it, OBVIOUSLY you[government] thats running shit will need a saviour cash income directly in the city that can be pumped into the local economy quick and easy. So population has a lot to do with it but mainly like i said before its all about the money. The INSTANT money is a bigger problem for Big Brother, he will look past the fact that making weed legal would totally contradict what they've been saying all along and make you look like hypocritical fucks.

In the end, you should be thankful for what you have in the first place, that is this beautiful plant because some other countries, people live wayyy shittier lives than you WITHOUT weed, so always consider my blades.
