(The Rare landrace seed) Black african magic

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by xxblueboyxx, Jul 5, 2021.

  1. So buddy of mine has came across the black african magic. He travels all around the world for the last 30 years. I happen to have one seed for me. Only one way to found out if its the real strain. I plan on germinating next week. Please follow this Journey and quest of the rare landrace seed and cloning this amazing strain. Maybe breed it with black mamba and call it black african mamba

    Info

black strain of weed found in the Ituri Forest in the Democratic Republic of Congo and that the Pygmies of the forest smoke it and it is said to be very psychedelic, probably due to equatorial conditions this strain has adapted to high uv rays and probably started producing high levels of THC and THCV and that could explain it's high psychedelic activity 20210703_092451.jpg Screenshot_20210703-092402_Chrome.jpg

  2. Hey xxblueboyxx!
I'm totally subb'd n pulling up a chair for this one. Super interested in landraces now since I've had some Guatemala Standard from Ace Seeds n they went n changed the genetics n its now a hybrid. I'm probably growing out the last of them as we speak. Sorry 4 getting side tracked. So, do you know how your gonna go about this?
I mean, do you have everything sorted out from lights to medium to nutes? What is the normal flower time for them? I'm sorry 2 ask so many questions, but as I said, super interested! Lol. Keep us all posted on all the lil details n I can wait 2 see what you can do with her. Good luck xxblueboyxx!

  3. I like how it says in the article its so rare, experts doubt it exists lol. So we'll have to wait and see. Do all phenotypes turn black? Or is it too rare to even know

  4. Very cool. I’ll tag along.

Any idea if its a pure Sativa? I can only guess that it must be?

  5. It is pure sativa im just doing some research on its origin and climate it was in. Its 9 weeks of flowering and also found out within week or 2 expose to colder temperatures 10 to 15 below average to unleash black coloring

  6. Pure Sativas generally flower much, much longer than 9 weeks. I’ve had Sativas that I’ve flowered for 18 weeks and should have gone 20. Many can/will go 20 to 25 weeks.

You sure on the 9 weeks? It wouldn’t be a pure Sativa at 9 weeks…

  7. Its just online info I have found not saying its accurate but there is little to none info on this. It's what makes it very interesting and exciting to grow. I'll be documenting everything to have an article about this stuff so others who come across this will know how to grow it properly if I do it properly. I want breed this strain if possible. Most likely I'd be checking trichomes and other signs of full mature and harvest ready.

  8. If it IS the BAM variety it would mean that it would certainly be a pure landrace Sativa - so I would count on 20+ week flowering times - and it might go 25. I know certain pure Sativas will go that long and it’s definitely not a bad thing. It is supposedly one of the strongest varieties in the world if its the real deal.

    Indicas get you stoned.

    Pure Sativas get you HIGH!

    good luck.

  9. I found a couple of websites that carry the African black magic seeds. Krazy part is going 2 get them 2 deliver 2 the U.S. or at least these sides. Once you started ya thread, I was super intrigued n I definitely won't stop being intrigued til I find the beans n grow them myself! So.... thank you 4 bringing such rarity 2 my attention. About 15-20 years ago there was a strain on my side of town called African Blacks which was 1 of the most potent cannabis I've smoked til this day!
I haven't seen it around since the mid 90s' n didn't think I would hear of it again. That was until your thread! I truly appreciate you bringing it 2 light cause now I won't stop searching til I got those beans! Lol. Once again, thank you xxblueboyxx! You may not know it, but you truly are a blessing!

  10. Turn black because of cold and activate of anthocyanin production. If its real landrace and its that stain I have no problem getting those temperature lower to make it black. Here my black mamba for example. Bring out the purple 20210702_080227.jpg 20210702_081233.jpg 20210702_080227.jpg

  14. So like I thought they spouted today. Also I forgot to mention that my buddy gave my another seed. So I have two running and one will be used for clones. Fingers cross both not males 20210716_143941.jpg 20210716_145052.jpg

  15. Ideally - if they *are* the fabled African Black, you’ll get one male and one female and you could either make a million seeds or you could put the male in a separate closed off area under a T5 or something and collect the pollen in a baggie, destroy the male after collecting the pollen and use a Q-tip and carefully pollinate a couple of lower little buds and make a hundred seeds. If you do that route, tie a ribbon around the low branch.

    either way - good luck.

  16. Looking forward to seeing your grow! That Mamba looks good, I'm sure you'll grow some beautiful stuff from that black magic, haven't heard about that stuff in years.
    Takes me back.

  18. I would clone both of them as soon as possible and make a lot of seeds from them first, if you are lucky enough to get a pair of them. Then I would feminize one and pollinate the other one for a lifetime of feminized seeds. I would keep on cloning until I had accomplished this.
